Sorry for being such a newb, but new to K Series, tried to search but couldnt find the info im looking for

I found the specs on each motor, k24a8 and k24a2, but is there any other differences besides HP and Compression Ratio between the motors.

If i were to get a K24a8, what would be need for K20 head??

they are night and day

the k24a2 is a tsx so the head can carry real VTEC cams with 3 lobes

the k24a8 is just an accord motor with no REAL VTEC HEAD. It doesnt have holes for the lost motion springs.

so yeah if you went with the k24a8 you would need :

a k20a2 head or a k20a head or a tsx k24a2 head or a civicsi k20z3 head or a rsx k20z1 head
k, so if i can get a full k24a8 longblock for $500, should i jump on it and find one of those heads

FYI: thinking about putting all this into a EM1, eventually going boost ~8-10psi on a GT35 (or something similar)

the amount of work to be done will be a headache. just get a k20a2. if you dont have suffienent funds for it, save up and do it right the first time around.

i'm talking from experience here.

it depends what you mean as far as getting a k20a2. There are placesasking $3000 for a complete k20a2 longblock..

in that case a k24a + a k20a2 head is better if you can do the work.. and frankly I am not sure why someone would not be able to do the work..

if you want to do go boost for sure, there are many things you could do depending on your budget

the k24a2 bottom end has

-higher compression pistons
-stronger rods if you have a 2006+
-oil jets that cool down the stock pistons
-crank that is stronger by small margin (not a big deal really)
I was under the impression that all the TSX motors had stronger rods, no? Are the 06 just stronger or are the 05 and previous years just the same as CRV etc?
