Has anyone swapped a K-series motor into an HX?

I will be doing this swap in the coming months, and have a pretty good grasp on all that is required... however will there be anything different from the norm that i may encounter?

the basis of my question relates to how the VTEC works differently in HX / VX modles vs. others.

Is there going to be anything different in the wiring?

or, since it's a complete swap... everything is new, and no worries?

i appreciate the help.

you will be using the complete engine harness for the k motor. and you will not need your stock engine harness at all. the wiring is fairly easy if you have done any type of wiring in the past. there are a few shops that make pnp harnesses that make your job easier. like hasport, hybrid racing, and rcrew racing to name a few. do some research to see which one will work best for you. and there is always the option to do it yourself and save money.
 good luck with your swap and welcome to the site  .

There is nothing about the swap that is odd or out of the norm.Swapping the engine into the engine bay,is fairly easy with the swap mount kits on the market...the only semi difficult part of the swap is the wiring.

Most people that havent done the swap, think that since the original engine/ecu had this or that,or didnt have this, that it would make the swap more difficult. It does not matter what engine or ecu the car came with. The only thing you will be using is the chassis side harness...nothing from the original ecu.No vtec wiring to run etc..You do not need to run any wires from the ecu to the engine..just plug in and leave alone. You will be modifying the ecu "E" plug and harness "c101" plug though if you do the wiring on your own.

Everything you need to know about the swap has been posted,so there is enough information around that you shouldnt have a big problem with parts.
If you cant find what youre looking for(axles, thottle cable etc..) Make a thread and somone will either tell you what you need,or direct you to the page on this site that has the info.

Welcome to the site!! :D
