K20a2 swapped EP3 header/exhaust question

3744 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  CrackedUpRacing
I have a 03 EP3 Si hatch and am having a K20a2 built for my car. I have a stock type s header for it (for now at least) and want to make sure my exhaust will be fit when the swap is done. I already have greddy exhaust on my car and i was thinking about grabbing one of those test pipe/downpipes for it to replace the cat until i do a full 2 1/2 exhaust and race header setup. I dont know if there's a clearance difference with the header or bolt pattern difference but i just want to know whether i need a Si test pipe or header or one for an RSX. I already know about how to trick the second O2 sensor from triggering the check engine light, so that shouldnt be a problem. Another question.....was thinking about getting the new 06 si intake manifold from honda, which is same as euro R, would it fit the same under my hood? and will i have to make any changes to the manifold or sensor differences or anything? anyone who can field this please help out. I have a DC5 type r flywheel for sale and dc5r dual valvesprings/retainers for sale if anyone is interested let me know:D

dude, the shorty type s header will work, race header will not. As for the type r manifold, you may need to do some cutting to account for the coolant port on the head on the z3 and not on the a2. For all ep3 specific fitment issues, visit ephatch.com there is a WEALTH of info on the ep3 and thta swap has been done many times, myself included.

To fool the secondary o2 (without k-pro) search for casper killer on ephatch, its a $3 part from any car part store that does the trick

yuo have to use the downpipe from the ep3, lest you are replacing the entire exhaust
My setup works great
EDIT: Found my answer durring my readings...
I have a question. Why do you need an rsx throttle cable when swaping an a2 motor?
