How do these two engines from the rsx and '06si compare, particularly in terms of potential?

v3, v3...hmmm v3...i think you mean Z3?

Not 100% though. I don't want to guess at it. Let me scour around.

Check out this K-series matrix.

Trannies differ slightly...

Ok my internets taking a dump...i'll take a gander later on. I'm sure the heads have slightly different internals...
Re: K20a Vs. K20z3

yeah i meant z3, thanks for the feedback anyway
Re: K20a Vs. K20V3

from what I know about the 2 engines are, the k20a has a higher compression, while the k20z3 has a better intake manifold.
Re: K20a Vs. K20V3

K20Z3 has.....
- drive by wire
- lower compression
- lower horsepower (this is due to a balancer added to the crankshaft that the RSX engine does not have to smooth out the revs)
- the engine gains some horsepower back due to the fact that it has electronic power steering....not a pullied pump attached to it
- probably have very similar heads, cams are probably slightly different, as in less aggressive on the Z3
- potential wise, that has yet to be decided....only issues i can see are the drive by wire...other than that, its a newer version of a K-series engine so its probably just as good as the old ones if not better....

Wrong^^^
-Its the same compresion.
-higher HP 10-15 more whp than rsxs motor
-better intake manifold
-Has more potential strait from the factory
Re: K20a Vs. K20V3

k20z3 is at 11.5.1 compression ratio?

the other K serious z1 and a2 are only 11:0:1
Re: K20a Vs. K20V3

Corrected the thread title for you. form V3 to Z3

says 11: 1 on my 06 si window sticker.
Re: K20a Vs. K20V3

yup - 11:1 cr on k20z3
I think twaum was referring to the k20a, which does have the higher compression, not the k20a2,
