I HAVE AN 06 ENGINE FROM A FWD CIVIC TYPER WITH FWD GEARBOX.WILL THIS BOLT STRAIGHT ON TO A S2000 GEARBOX AND ARE FLYWHEELS AND CLUCTHES COMPATIBLE.uk SPEC THANKS ANDREW
Yes.. If the Blocks were the same, there would be no need for an adapter plate for the link posted above. So its a different block altogether then k20 to a s2000 engine?
wouldnt a flywheel spacer solve the probblem just like an h2b kitafter seeing F20 gearbox & K20 gearbox side by side this summer,i think you can't put a F20 gearbox on a k20 engine because the mainshaft is around 1.5" shorter so you can't engage it on the clutch...
it's my mind![]()
i don't know but the other prob is the mainshaft won't go into his space at the end of the crank too...wouldnt a flywheel spacer solve the probblem just like an h2b kit
The prototype racing kit is for an Elise.I'm probably missing something, but why would you want a F series in a fwd platform?
I run a K20A2 with a Toyota Corolla 5 speed RWD transmission in my LowCost 7 autocross car. I used the front half of the DC5 6 speed case, and a 3/8" flat aluminum plate a I machined to match the holes in the DC5 case and the Toyota transmission. It works fine. The car won this years National SCCA SOLO D Modified Championship.Makes sense, thanks.
It'd be interesting to see K series in rwd platforms.
x2.. :up:do you have pics please?it's very interesting![]()
That's pretty nifty, you should post some pictures. You use an old 4age tranny? How does that tranny hold up? What else was fabricated to make that work in that car?I run a K20A2 with a Toyota Corolla 5 speed RWD transmission in my LowCost 7 autocross car. I don't have any seperate pictutres, but when I dismantle the car for the Winter refresh I'll shoot some pictures of the bellhousing/adapter. It quite simple, the stripped front 1/2 of the transmission case, a flat 3/8" plate, and the proper holes drilled in the plate. (I had to make the pilot bearing myself. The Toyota input shaft is smaller than the Honda bearing.)That's pretty nifty, you should post some pictures. You use an old 4age tranny? How does that tranny hold up? In a FWD the F20C would make for a killer turbo motor for dragracing, that is about it as far as I can tell.
