It's covered pretty well elsewhere, but difference between the K20A(2) and the K20Z is that the K20Z has type r cams and a different transmission. The transmission has a lower final drive (like the type r), but not the closer 4/5/6 like the type r. More importantly, the K20Z has a different speed sensor output and uses a different ECU. This does matter for a swap because the easiest way is to use the 02-04 K20A2 ECU rather than the 05 K20Z ECU, which currently cannot be re-programmed.

The mounts are the same. K20Z is rated at 210 hp vs K20A 220 ps and K20A2 200 hp. In practice the 10 hp difference between the K20A2 and K20Z is less than the normal variation between engines, so don't get the K20Z solely for the extra 10 hp.

To remove AC & PS get the Civic Si idler pulley (~$100 from dealer, parts number should be on this forum if you search) and use a 7 rib 50.5 inch belt (pep boys 7K505 or something similar).

A jumper harness would be needed to be made. Fearlessracing on here has made a few. The reason being, the ecu pins are in different places.

from hondata.com website
Please do not call asking for more details at this time. Price for the K-Pro and adapter harness will be $1145 (user supplied ECU). Actual release dates will be announced as they approach.

In about the middle to end of May we plan to release the K-Pro for the 2005 RSX. This will use a 2002-2004 RSX ECU and an adapter harness. You will also need the Primary oxygen sensor from the 2002-2004 RSX. We will be offering an 05 K-Pro bundle that the user provides an ECU and we then modify the Ecu and add the K-Pro and include an adapter harness. This solution allows the speedo to work properly as well as all sensors.

So, now all I need is the normal k20 swap parts and the newer style of the kpro for the 05 rsx? does that come with the 04 ecu? is there an 04 ecu needed with kpro? and is it possible to use the 05 harness and i'll need a 04 primary o2 sensor. The k20z will be going into a 93 cx hatch. Thanks!

get a k20a or a k20a2. I'd suggest the k20a.
