My guess would be to replace the cast piece.

Would be the block, causing a longer chain get into work.

im thinking of machining a lump to replicate the part of the block that is now missing
possibly thinking of using the 3 boltholes on the back of the engine block but i have the steering rack and downpipe in the way,it is very tight
might be able to use a higher bolt on the gearbox but the downpipe is close to that too
