Well i just finished my turbo b-series teg and now i'm selling it and starting all over. this is first time i've messed with a k. i been on the site for a week just looking around, figuring out my plans. well i just picked up a k24a2 block with bad rings. so i plan to bore it out get some eagle rods and cp 12.5:1 pistons and go from there.

i got a question though, there is a little rubber piece in the griddle? what is that? haha i looked around and i'm kind of confused, looks like something for the water pump?

Welcome man. I see you mentioned your motor of choice, but what tranny do you plan to go with. The best choice is the 6sp (type s tranny). Pics would be great to see man and build thread.

Here are a couple threads that explain what it is, but it is a coolant diverter. The K24A2, K24A4 and K20Z3 heads need this because the coolant ports are different than the other K-series heads.

So, if you are keeping the K24A2 head then you need the coolant diverter, and a K24A2 head gasket. Same rule applies for the A4 head, and the Z3 head.
