so I decided to keep track of this build. might as well do it here. I like k20a forum better then the dead 8th gen forum.

so I always said if Honda makes a 4dr SI il be all over it
of course not brand new.

completely stock.
228k miles.
rebuilt trans with new clutch
interior is pretty clean
will be a daily driver and weekend track car.
need to replace everything I can with aluminum or delete.

I hate leather boots first mod....

needed brakes bad and struts(blown out)

I can tell this is going to be a lot of fun...when doin brakes the new inner fender plastic didn't fit in. and ripped axle boot. grease everywhere...:whiner:
and removed this garbage.(howbeit it structural...)

wrangling the old exhaust manifold out I smashed it.
ordered a new one.,
the high miles k20z3 will come out.
will buy a k24a2 soon and have the Z3 head resurfaced with valve job.
il have the k24a2 in then swap out heads once the z3 head is done.
then start on a built k24 bottom end. NA track car/Arkansas hills runner.

working on putting in new front lower control arm bushings, rear coilovers and shocks. rear upper control arms..but bolts wont budge. even stripped some out..:coleman: ugh. ..need to get the car up. with garage clothes and have a full day. MAP gas and my new impact gun/grinder/sawzall and replace all the suspension bolts :fuuu: ..the dreaded seized bolt issues

thank you sir.

junk is piling up

removed headliner and sunroof

I don't have $$$$ to replace the whole roof. sunroof doesn't weigh much but the glass is a bucket of bricks. removed and tiny sheet metal screws angled metal to ceiling to hold glass for now. will patch shut with sheet metal and weld in.

hacked to fit. for now. just trying to get the car reduced to minimal stuff first.

4ft power strip bolted to side.
retractable extension cord on side.
will have retractable air hose on side soon
and wireless charging pad for my phone next to speakers.

cant get these stupid stickers off :fuuu:

and some cute pic of oem scratched knob

and..............TL-S calipers.
and mugen RR front next

Maybe my non-native speaker lack of knowledge cause it, but I didn't get you. Ended up with black means what? You had a short cut?

the jumper cables were attached. if you try to separate them it rips open one of the 2 cables. the red cable was completely fileted open. (useless now)

aaaaaaaaaand back on the stands..
working on getting new ball joints, tie rods, control arm bushings, wheel bearings. wheel studs. fix coil binding. install fender liner. roll fenders. hydro dip valve cover and new VC gasket. was leaking. alignmnent.
hydropip interior pieces. new wheel sensors, new radio(lighter) shifter box and cable bushings.
removed seat belt beeper. relocating cruise control buttons. ...yea...

busted these. seized solid. had to melt it out. also busted front main lower control arm bolt in half.

new radio, very small and light and basic. AUX and BT is all I need. old radio stuff is much heavier, plus all scratched up and radio knob always confused me with climate knob while driving.

just like older Hondas steering column weight...removed

strange dirt on inside of back of cluster.

I HATE YOU.........:fuuu:
removed beeper from inside cluster

and a look at the cams..they look pretty worn. you can feel the 230k miles on the lobes.

will source k24a2 and get it swapped in.
then once z3 is out. will resurface head with valve job, mild port and drop in cams then put head on k24a2 block. that should make me happy for awhile.
sourcing more wheels. nxt check however buying type r trunk and taillights. mugen rr front bumper and repainting this summer not sure what color.
I think a dark stealth grey. but after I get lighter hood and sunroof cap welded in.

no matter what I tried I could not press in the Pu bushings into arms. so they went with spindles to a trusted shop with a press

they called...:Ookay:
wheel bearings don't fit.

(myself)
and inner tie rods aren't fitting I guess SI has much larger inner tie rod.
to late for pics. sliced them out and scrapped. but threaded end is much larger.

soo...buying another set of inner tie rod ends. endlinks(sliced out) wheel sensors....attttttttttttttttttt least il have a new car when I'm done:lolface:

dismantling k24a4 today I got super dirty cheap. (bent valves). the head will make a nice door stop.
