K24a is basically the same as the 04/05 usdm k24a2, except the k24a makes more torque.

K24a specs: (early years 03-08) RBB1/2
197 HP @6800rpm
171 TQ @4500rpm
Rev limiter: 7200

K24a2 usdm specs: 04/05
197hp @6800rpm
166Tq @4500rpm
Rev limiter: 7200

If your k24 cylinder head is marked “RBB” then it’s most likely 3-lobe, ivtec head, which is practically same as k20 heads with the exception of vtc, springs, and slightly lower flow.

I performed the k24a full longblock swap on my 07’ si fg2. For more info, my YouTube is Gerb.

Great info im going k24a in my ek hatch with ekk2 mounts on a eg suframe matched with a k20z3 transmission.

Keep up the good work I've watched many of your videos even from before you been swapped your car I use to have a black fa5 very fun car overall you got a nice build
There was quite a few Stock k24 seeing 8k in the thread , I plan on taking mine to 7900-8k stock oil pump (once it’s tuned ) With the k20 oil pump I would go to 8500 if in short blasts. I think there are some differences between the 24 and k20z3 pumps, but the z3 guys take their motors way higher. I’ve seen as high as 9300 on those blocks all stock.

Thanks man. That little ek is going to move! I’m running Z3 trans too on my k24a.

Appreciate all your support, more vids coming soon. Fa5 has always been my dream, but the fg2 grew on me in time. Thanks, the build gets the job done for now. I want to start building a high rev k24 on the side 😎.

Grab an accord/element/crv block that isn’t spun from a junkyard , the good block and crank are all you need to get going and you should be able to get away with a shortblock or even full motor if you pull it for 2-500

So I’ve seen... I think sense I have k20 oil cooler, amsoil, and tune, my k24 should be fine going to 8k rpm. Still haven’t had the balls to take it there yet haha.

Likewise! If I had type s pump, I’d go 8400-8500. There is some differences, but the pumps look so much alike. I took my k20z3 to 9k a few times and it loved it.

My only concern about bringing my 04’ k24a to 8k would be piston speeds and stock valve train 🤷🏼‍♂️
From what I can gather in your vids, you're only e-tuned right?
I guess a few extra revs will help your highway pulls just a bit, but most pro-tunes cap the revs around 7600 since most k24a2's stop making peak power well before that without cams.

Just wanted to add that the previous owner of my k24a2 (06-08) swapped ep3 has put a buttload of miles on this setup with redline at 7600.
It's done 250,000km ~155k miles on this setup and it runs mint to this day. YMMV keep up the great content, I enjoy it Gerb.

Indeed I am. Nice observation.
Yeah, I was thinking of upping my limiter to 7800rpm, but it’s not worth it if it’s too risky. 7600rpm seems to be the ultimate safe spot for the vtec k24’s.

All info is greatly appreciated! 155k!? Is it tuned? I want mine to last, so maybe I won’t touch it haha. Next k24 I build is going to be an 8k-9k ripper. Truly appreciate all the support buddy TY.

Pro tuned from very early on.
Got a mix of all sorts of "not the best parts for ultimate power" (tsx stock intake manifold, jdm headers, stock ep3 exhaust, k&n heatsoaker intake, rdx injectors), 220whp/170tq + an 8th gen si LSD.

That’s some good results.

According Wikipedia only the K24A economy version comes with the Honda Element (JDM). If the head stamping is RBB, then it should be the high performance version, which all came from JDM version of Honda Odyssey and Accord.

I live in nz, we have all the jdm models.
Im using a jdm k24a3 for my awd rd1 kswap.
The 200hp k24a3 only comes in the absolute model of oddessy. The accord isn't called a tsx its called a accord euro chassis is cl9 the top spec usually has thw 200hp engine it has leather interior heated seats etc just like the oddessy. Both drive by wire.

The intake cover is silver plastic with i-vtec in red.

Our local hondas also have the 200hp k24a3 like the rd5 crv. We dont have the element. Apparently our local crv k ecu and loom can be used for kpro but i haven't been able to verify that

On a side note i joined up here 5 days ago, I tried to start a build thread on my kswap crv yesterday but its still not approved? Is that normal? Cheers tony

Just saw that today, but for the record. It helps if you create posts in the introduction area. After a few posts, if nothing is suspicious for the forum anti-spam-algorithm you can post own threads. If it found something suspicious from it learning's (sort of AI, we train "on the job") it is in an approval queue, which need an mod to approve manually. As I am almost everyday here to clear the approval queue I assume you had to less posts to get into auto-approved post mode.
