Re: Is Hasport Brackets for K20EG strong enough for turbo ki

I would like to know if transmission side mountain unit is strong enough to hold the power. I am an engineer and I didn't like its design, it looks unprofessional. Has anyone had any problems with it? Does the engine shakes or moves under high torque situation. Check this out :www.hondata.com/racecar (good stuff)
Well, I am positive that the mounts were designed with a finite element program that takes into consideration a lot of factors. I have looked at both the EG and EK hasport kits and they look of high quality to me. I am a professional engineer as well.

I would not worry about using a turbo kit with it. Compared to the mass of the motor, the turbo kit weight is not much.

The mount and bracket excede the strength of the parts they're bolted too. There will be several 600 to 800 hp cars running this setup before the end of the year. We ran a 450 hp and 300 hp engines engines in our testing.

But as an engineer, I interesed in your assessment of the design. What's the shortfall?

i run my car like almost every week, basically the car only sees the track and i got to say that these mounts hold up perfectly with no problems at all. Let me tell you, i run the shit out of this motor, and still no problems at all........ I wouldnt even worry about it, Hasport puts in a lot of time to create these kits....
