I was just wondering because im getting a swap for my ep3 and i want to turbo it with stock internals. What kinda numbers do people make with stock internals and still be reliable. Im going to have K-pro as well and tune on the dyno.

Is there anyone out there thats turboed a k20z3 or k20a2 with stock internals? If so what kinda numbers are you making? Does anyone know how strong the pistons and rods hold up against 350 horse power? I now on b16a and b18c you dont really want to go over 280 hp to keep it reliable. What about the k20?

I know 2 people personally with over 500hp on stock K series internals. One is a K24a4 making 518hp (http://www.k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63867) and the other is a stock K20a2 making 618hp (http://www.k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=82101&highlight=6262). Both are up here at ~5500' elevation on E85. There are a few other people on here that are making 500+hp on stock internals as well, so 350hp really isnt much to worry about. Get a good tune and good fuel and you should be good to go.

ok use e85 because of the higher compression right.
Yes its 105 Octane, and all the temperatures will be cooler as ethanol burns cooler than unleaded fuels.

The problem is not the internals of the engine. They are good for around 500hp but the tranny doesn't like the torque that comes with those numbers and you will end up grinding off the gears. Have a look at 8thcivic.com. There are a lot of guys pushing high 400's and low 500's just fine but with tranny issues

mind you that here in the U.S. we have winter blends that they switch when the times comes and it has a much different octane rating, lower I believe.Tuning for E-85 and romping on the car with winter blend can cause the same damage that using regular fuel can on an E-85 tune.
