just curiouse what type or tranny oil you guys are using and how quarts it takes to fill it up . i would like what the book says if you have the info.
also anyone experiencing the second gear grinding ???

is it an o2 motor or tranny if it is.rsx type s had recall on there 02 tranny for 2nd gears.

yea its a 02 how can we get a recall if we bought it second hand and its not in a rsx no more???

2 quarts are needed for the trans. I'm running GM Syncromesh friction modified. Use to have a Problem with third gear in the morning, Not anymore after i use the synchromesh. Mines is also a 02 type s trans without the recall done on it.

I used around 2 quarts of redline MTL in my rsx tranny.My Rsx is an 03 and it would grind sometimes also.I changed the fluid and i never heard a noise or grind from it again :up:

gm syncromesh can work wonders on a tranny. make sure you use the friction modified type with lsd trannies.

my grinding isn't that bad if i put it into gear before 2500 in second there is no problem but after that i woiuld have to shift it few sec. slower than all the other gears.
so gm sycromesh works good ? is that better or redline mtl?? thanks for the feedback

I never used the GM syncromesh but i can vouch for the redline MTL.The tranny shifted and engaged alot smoother then over the stock fluid.I changed the fluid around 10,000 and after 20,000 miles i havent had a noise or grind ever since :up: I can rip my gearbox without having to worry about it grinding hehe :up:

i really haven't tried to shift my car from first to 2nd after vtec point i guess i'm just scared to mess it up so i haven't tried how it engaged in vtec mode; but the other gears seem to work good after the car is warmed up. and yea my second is lil hard to get in at night. when its cold somtime i have to double clutch get it in or let rpm drop all the way then put it in gear.
i think i will try redline mtl ,any online place to buy you know of??

I've used the MTL and syncromesh in my stock trans (d17) and the MTL does work better IMO.
