On Sunday June 7th, Church Automotive Testing and Hondata held a dyno day for the 06-09 Civic Si. There was a prize of a free FlashPro for the Civic Si that dynoed with the most power.

The results and dynos are posted here

http://hondata.com/dynocharts06_09civicsi.html

IPS mark2 cams placed first in NA and another thing that stands out is the crower cams that made less than stock. Not sure if this has been posted or not, but I thought most of you would be interested in the results.

how come the guy at the bottom is bottom on the list when his numbers are higher than the guy above him. hes all stock making 204.5 hp 154.9 tq, actually, what i want to know is why his tq number jumped like that with everything stock. no one else made a drastic change like him when they have bolt ons.

not having a header or good bolt ons would do that to u....u out of all people should know this.....and the ips cam'd car had a great header bigger tb and all kinds of misc things so he had to make power compared to everybody else..... my .02 cents

because if u look at the car that made 237.2 with no cams jus i/h/e made 5hp less so for a extra thousand bucks on cams and a probably another thousand for that ssr header u make 5hp more? use skunk 2 ish and u makin 5 less for probably half the price the other guy spent. now thats something to be impressed by

Well, for some reason the 06+ Si cars do not make the anywhere close to the same power as the same motors in civic/crx chassis.. Sure we can blame it on the headers but there seems to be a 20whp difference between a Si motor in a 06 civic vs a 92 Civic..

It could also be the flashpro vs kpro.. not sure but I heard something through the grapevine about this... I am sure as more cars get the flashpro and try different things they will find what is going on.. Not to mention that all motors are different and very sensitive to misc mods. The revs were also limited to 8100 so a lot of things come into play.

hmm now your understanding what im tryin to say lol about the different factors not that jus one cam or setup is better than the others. that particular car jus reacted better to the flashpro

The K2 cam'd car shows no intake mods but it could be a typo. And the stock car at the bottom looks like a baseline car and not an actual competitior.
yup probably is the honda hp to the wheels hp

The last car on the list is an All Stock SI. They had a prize for the car that makes less power than a Stock SI.

Throttle body is stock. What I have is a Throttle Body Spacer.

About the comparison, Hondata had calibrations for almost every bolt-ons for the SI. They didn't have any calibrations for my cams, so they just manually guess and threw in calibrations and see if it work, hence why I didn't gained any peak power. I made less peak power with Hondata calibrations compare to my Stock ECU. I did gained more power throughout the RPM though.

They did 4 pulls. 2 with Stock ECU and 2 with Hondata calibrations. Comparing these dyno graphs is not entirely accurate because it's not a full tune.

So what was the prize for the car making less powere than stock?

Wonder what your gains would have been with a proper map. No aftermarket intake? It's blank on the list.

KPro > FlashPro

FlashPro can't do everything that KPro does, hence the price differences.

There is no typo. The K2 Cam'd car had 100% Stock Intake.

Correct, the ALL Stock SI is not an actual competitor. It's just there for comparison.
interesting results. I'll definitely have to keep an eye out for these kflashed FGs. :p

Yup, it's blank because I don't have an aftermarket intake.

I'm not sure, you gotta ask Hondata about that. This is what they said.......
At the end of the day, we will have a profile of the typical Civic Si's modifications.

Everyone will see what works well, and what does not.

We will have a range of before and after dyno plots we can make public for people to learn from.

We have decided to give a booby prize to any modified Civic that makes less power than our stock test Civic.

So I guess you'll be selling your Flashpro:silly:
Nope, I'm keeping it. There will never be a KPro for our car due to the new ECU style that Honda now use. I can do a conversion (harness, cable throttle, etc) to be able to use KPro, but I will lose cruise control and anything else that shares the DBW (Driven By Wire) features.

As of now, there are only two tuning solution for our cars, Hondata & COBB. Tuning will be through the OBD port.

Well congrats man! Give us an update when you get a good tune. I'm curious to know what your numbers look like with those cams.
