This problem started on my way to California for a weekend trip. It did it the last 200 miles there and the full 640 miles back, and the car still drives.

SYMPTOMS.

Clutch Pedal has massive vibration and somewhat of sensitvie engagement as compared to the normal feeling, if the clutch isnt babied i will notice a shutter.

I also hear a rattling noise even from inside the cabin, which is apparently coming from the clutch release fork, which you can actually see bouncing around vibrating.

Also while driving after you engage the clutch a few times it seems like everything is fine there will be no rattling or vibrating engagement, but it does end up going back to being bad.

Basically, i want to know everyone's thoughts on what the possible problems could be, how to diagnose them, but most importantly when the tranny gets dropped what to look for when its apart.

For reference the motor is the k20a (itr) . i will keep everyone updated as i learn whats going on.. thanks guys

Mostly like you will have to replace the clutch assembly. I believe the main cause is the pressure plate, going weak. Best thing is to drop the tranny and replace the clutch assembly, as well as resurfacing the flywheel. This gives you a chance to decide if you want to go for a better clutch. Hope that helps, later

thanx for your input, the thing that confuses me that if the pressure plate is going weak then why will it seem to "slip into place" and drive normal again.. either way the tranny does have to come down though to find out..
