Hi there everyone I was just wondering what would the difference be between the hasport and hybrid racing mounts? (bushings, ground clearance, and do the motor sit same place) I already know that hybrid mounts are full billet.

I believe the hybrid racing mounts sit higher up..I have them and there is about a dime clearance between the dip stick and the hood....plenty on the Intake manifold... pan clearance looks better than the old B series plenty of room, I guess hybrid tried hard to get good pan clearance, they did a really good job..... My buddy has hasport mounts and it sits a little lower and a tad further back...Just curious how the hybrid racing mounts will clear ITBs???

In my experience with both companies, I can whole heartedly suggest going with Hybrid-Racing products. They seem to stand behind their work and products with very good quality and exceptional customer service.

Too bad I can't say the same for HASPORT. In fact, I can say just the opposite.

The few dollars you may save going with HASPORT may not be worth the trouble and delay in your project that they may bring you. I know they may make great mount kits, but with the axles I ordered, there was a lot to be desired.

Here's an example of someone else's disappointment as well:

I don't think this is true, if the Hybrid-Racing photos of their engine placement are accurate then the Hasport mounts place the engine 2 inches further back than the H-R placement. So even though we have a touch more clearance from the dipstick to the hood we are further back where the hood is higher. We should have more ground clearance too. When someone post some pictures We can confirm that.

Another thing that effects ground clearance is the proximity to the front wheels. Most ground impacts occur on inclines like driveways or speed bumps. The closer you are to the wheels the less likely there will be a problem.

I can whole heartedly say that HASPORT mounts are way better than the Hybrid_racing mounts. I have personally used both and usign the hybrid racing mounts, you might get a slightly better oil pan clearance(which very miniscul in the first place) but it puts the motor in a weird angle where your axles will get messed with when you are racing. if you look down on top of the motor, you will notice that your axles will have an angle to them which will cause you to snap your axles.

The Hasport Mounts, with personal experience and lots of testing on their mounts. We race this car every single weekend, and not once have we ever had a problem. I can post up any kind of picture to prove this to you guys. We even have a magazine article that NIKOS should be getting soon that has us testing out the mounts. OIL PAN clearance isnt even a thing to worry about ! Im sure if you have enough money to get a k20, im sure you wouldnt be driving the car around on stock soft suspension anyways. I have really abused these sets of mounts, pulling the motor in and out all the time, and everything is holding up perfectly. And all the aftermarket comanies are building products off of the HASPORT mounts and not any other mount kits. If you want proof of anythign with the HASPORT mounts, just ask and i will prove to you that they are the best mounts out there. Shit, if you live in Southern Cali, you can personally come and check out the car and test drive it.

Once I get the HASPORT axle to finish the swap, I'll be obliged to take pictures. The ride height on my DC2 will be set close to the ride height of an OEM DC2 type R....maybe about .5" lower.

What angles do you want?

I will obviously take one head on at "lower front bumper" level.

I thought you had Hasport mounts? I was speaking about pictures of the new H-R mounts to confirm. We can put them side by side with Hasport mounted engines to illustrate.

Ohh...my bad. I thought you wanted more pics of the HASPORT height. Stupid me for not thinking that you guys would have all the pics you need. Sorry, momentary loss in common sense....as you get older, you too will notice more occurences of "brain farts".

There are no pictures of the new Hybrid Racing mounts located online. The new mounts sit back 1.75inch further than the first prototype. There will be more in about a week when the new site is released.

What hybrid racing mounts are you using?

We have not had one customer call and complain about a broken axle.
Can you post the pictures you are refering to? Are they billet or steel?

now confused on which one to get

until 2fastxeg's email, I was all set w/ getting the Hybrid-Racing mounts because of the supposed problems w/ the Hasport axles

now with 2fastxeg's quote "but it puts the motor in a weird angle where your axles will get messed with when you are racing", that really makes me uneasy about the Hybrid Racing mounts...

Although I will be using my car as a daily driver, really, if it looks like it will break down that I can't get to and from work, I won't even consider purchasing the product whatever it may be.
