alright here is my setup. I got a 92 civic hatch. I plan on doing a k20a2 swap this winter but i also plan on doing a 5 lug and rhd conversion. The questions i have is will there be any problems clearing the steering rack by using a k series motor instead of a b series motor. Now with the 5 lug they say you have to use ITR axles or prelude/accord or bigger axles. How is this going to affect the swap, what axles whould i use since they are going to have to be different for the motor. Any help/suggestions would be great.

Thanks in advance!!

A few of my customers have performed the K series swap in RHD chassis. You should have no problems clearing the steering rack.

I can get the axles for you. You will need the outer joint changed over to a 36mm, to accommodate the new suspension.

You will also need a conversion harness (k series) designed for a RHD chassis if you plan on changing the dash harness etc.

Good luck with the swap.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Will

how hard would it be to change the outer joints on the axles that come in the group buy. The thing is i think i am going to get the motor done sooner then i will be able to afford the 5 lug and i was just wondering if i would have to buy another set of axles or if the ones i have would be able to be altered and how hard it is. Also what would be the difference in the conversion harnesses for the RHD compared to the one in the group buy. If you have an insant message contact that i could reach you at that would be great.

Thanks

Here's a rhd with K20/24 in it. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=888154 The same thread used to be in this forum, I'm not sure where it went.

Only the JDM 5 lug needs the larger axles, so if you choose a US conversion changing the outer joints is unnecessary. As for how hard it is to do the outer joint conversion, in the end it may be cheaper to resell your axles and replace them. It all depends on the diameter of the axle shaft. That will tell you which outer jonts you can utilize.
