i own a 02 type s , and was wondering if any of you guys have used full synthetic oil? what brand? pro's and cons'? and if not , what oil and brand do you prefer?? thanks

I run full synthetic. Always have and always will. Don't pay any attention to the price - spend the money and have no regrets. You will feel a difference. I guarantee it

A lot of people run (or would like to run) AMSoil.

On a nice engine, I'd run AMSoil with a few ounces of LE.Lube (just because I seem to have access to it...and I hear it helps with protection)

I run 30 Redline in SCCA race car. Car never sees less than 6k RPM for 25 minutes. Oil lasts all season with filter change eveyother race. Minimal discoloring. For racing run MT 90 redline in transmission.

All of the above mentioned synthetics are good. I've used most of them over and years and also have had good luck. Right now I use Mobil 1 since it's the most convenient to purchase. Also use Mobil 1 filters. I just bought this 04 Si and I will be changing oil in about 2000 mi. and will refill with Mobil 1.

You can't go wrong with one of the name brand oils. Amsoil is considered by many to be the best, but you probably won't notice a difference among those mentioned. I change oil either to manufacturer's recommendation when under warranty or every 10,000 mi. DON'T fall believe the myth that oil needs to changed every 3,000 mi.

Not trying to thread jack or affend anyone but dont you think if honda found out that synthetic oil made there engines run any better or last any longer that they would offer a honda synthetic oil.

as would every other company. Then it would come down to the advertising of such an expensive oil vs. a cheaper more readily available synthetic like mobil 1.
