What kind of exhaust are you thinking? I will be running into the same issue. 40 mi round trip. I was planning on the q300. Its 2.75" i believe. Hopefully drone isn't too bad.
I'm not exactly sure just yet but for the time being I'll be using the HKS Hi-Power that was on the car when I bought it. I'm sure that will change at some point but for now, it's there and 2.5" so why not.

Looking good. Are you just sticking with 2.5" exhaust to keep the noise down?
Exactly.

Why do you plug up this oil passage? I’m doing a similar build sourced a k24a from hmo as well your a few steps ahead of me I’m about to do the oil pump, timing and such and was wondering what benefits this has
As Brotatochip mentioned, yes it's an oil passageway for the stock oil pump on the K24. If you don't plug it up when using the Type-S oil pump, you run a huge risk of low oil pressure and starving your motor.

I'm scheduled to receive the K20 Hondata intake manifold gasket this afternoon from FedEx. PLM header is on the way from Cali.....um....let's see, I still need to order the K-Tuned fuel rail setup I've been eyeballing so that all of this can work. That's it for now, more to come. Stay tuned.

Okay,

So while I realize this next part/update isn't necessarily something that's going to help with the project, I thought I'd share it with you guys anyway for anyone who's interested in getting a hard on for carbon fiber/needless bling/impulsive buying type shit...

Hondata Carbon Fiber ECU Cover:

Font Style Line Material property Art

Product Textile Sleeve Font Rectangle

Door mat Rectangle Line Flooring Font

Rectangle Flooring Material property Mesh Gas

So it's a full carbon fiber piece, albeit super thin. It has the HONDATA logo embossed on the cover, it's not just a sticker. I'm very happy with the quality and the fact that in addition to the K-Pro and intake manifold gasket, I'll have supported a great company for the industry 3x over with this current build. If you're not hip already, check them out...

Hondata

More to come soon, thanks guys.

Super sharp my guy. I had no idea hondata even offered these. Where will the ecu go to show this sucker off?
I didn't either until I came across it browsing through their website. They have really interesting data on their technical information subsection under the Support tab if you or anyone else is interested. I'm all about real world knowledge when it comes to this sort of thing so I was soaking it all up and then found the ECU cover so I decided why not...?

I haven't even thought about showing it off after it's installed to be honest. Type-S PRB ecu's are rare enough as it is so the more hidden it is, the better. I know it's there, I don't mind if it's not showing. Although, I've already spilled the beans with displaying it above, no?

FedEx has delayed both the intake manifold gasket as well as my header so we'll hope for a delivery sometime next week. I'll continue to post up things I've purchased for the build to keep this thread relevant in the meantime. Keep it locked,

I only have a small update for now...

Hondata K20a intake manifold gasket arrived last night.

Font Paint Tints and shades Electric blue Art

I also ordered in all new moldings and seals for the doors, windows and roof. They weren't terrible but in degraded enough condition for me to want them replaced. I've already received a few pieces from my local warehouse but a few others are coming from across the midwest and Cali...

There's also going to be a temporary change to the headlamps with OEM ITR styled black housings here soon. It think it will definitely fit the car better than the cheesy aftermarket ones that are on there now. I do plan on converting both the front and rear ends to 05+ spec once the main part of this build is complete and the car is tuned and running well. I was also able to source an OEM set of JDM Type-S door sills from Japan that I plan on installing down the line. I'll throw pics of both those and the headlamps up soon. Still waiting on the header...

We used to call those fender guards (fender covers).
You mean from the Guitar company Fender? Legendary guitar maker, the blues and country scene may would not happen without Fender 😉.

Correct, that is one of our service covers for the Acura NSX - NA1 & NA2 ('91 - '05). We also have one cut specifically for the NC1 ('17 - '22) as well that they keep in the shop. Honda also makes one for the S2000 AP1 & AP2 ('99 - '09) that I may look into sourcing for my car. Although I'm sure they're at a premium by this point...

A couple more body seals arrived this morning via FedEx but I won't bore you guys with pics of those. I'll update soon with pics of the JDM headlamps and the Type-S door sills tonight. Header still in route....

Still no header, no FedEx update either so....just been waiting patiently and ordering other parts in the meantime...

Here are a few pics of the Integra Type-S door sills and the replica ITR headlamps I'll be using until I complete the '05-'06 front and rear end conversions on the car. The Type-S Sills were extremely well packaged and the box reinforced with corner pieces and metal straps keeping it secure on it's trip from Canada. They even had the retaining clips and the plastic protection over top of the metal area. They may seem blemished in the pics but I can assure you they are perfect underneath. The headlamps also came very well packaged from DC5 ASSOCIATION with styrofoam reinforcements inside the box. Anyway, enjoy guys, I'll be back soon with another update...

Here's a small addition unrelated to this build thread but thought I'd share anyway...

While waiting for the header to arrive, I got some work done on the S2000. Having a little over 207K on this car, I had the timing chain and all related components replaced as well as the water pump, coolant and drive belt. I couldn't believe how clean the original parts were, they looked almost brand new.(see pics below) I also had a valve adjustment performed, replaced the spark plugs and had the timing cover and oil pan resealed with new parts. Basically every gasket and/or seal I could replace, I did. Top to bottom, from the valve cover gasket, tube seals, grommets, crankshaft position o-rings to Vtec solenoid gasket to HondaBond, it got replaced. A fresh 10W30 Mobil1 oil change to top it off and she's running amazing. I was able to snap a few shots of that process before I headed to The Washington Auto Show this past Saturday here in D.C. Acura only had a few of our stock cars on display and Honda didn't have an FL5 or even an FK8 to show so I snapped a couple pics of an amazing RAUH-Welt Porsche instead. Back soon, enjoy...

I was reading people were saying they use Honda bond for this bolt, can I use high temp red loctight or permatex untra grey? I have both what did you torque this to 16ft lb?
Use anything that will keep that bolt nice and sealed to the threads there. I used Honda Ultra-Flange, same as HondaBond. You don't want any oil to flow through that orifice. I didn't torque the bolt I used to any specific ft lb. - numerous threads on this topic say hand tightening will suffice. I'm sure if you wanted to be extra sure, you could torque it to the recommended spec. I was using a Volkswagen bolt and didn't know the tightening parameters for that spec metal. Again, snug it down with HondaBond, Ultra Flange, Loctite, etc and you'll be fine.

I've got a few updates for the thread today, check it out.

Injen Cold Air Intake System - RSX Type-S

I had this same intake on my previous RSX before I swapped that setup into my Integra. It looks and sounds amazing on the K20, comes with a new washer reservoir tank and I opted for the hydroshield again, in red. I realize that a 3" intake setup would be most ideal for power in this build but I'm content right now with a proven, reliable bolt on system that doesn't require much modification to the chassis. There is some slight trimming to the driver's side inner fender liner and obviously, swapping the OEM washer reservoir for Injen's slim fit tank. I'm excited to have this installed on the RBC manifold. Speaking of that....

The RBC manifold has already been trimmed and I plan on using the Hybrid Racing throttle body adapter with my stock Type-S throttle body for my setup. Paired to those components will be OEM RDX 410cc injectors mounted to this...

K-Tuned Fuel Rail Kit

That's the K-Tuned center feed fuel line tucked kit with a center mount gauge. A gorgeous piece that's designed for a very clean install, of which I'm stoked to have for this build. K-Tuned has been making it easy for gear heads like us to take full advantage of the K series with developing quality aftermarket parts options for over 10 years now. I had one of these rails on my previous build and it never let me down. I'm really looking forward to the look of it within the engine bay....

The last update I have for today is a few pics of the parts I've gathered for the upcoming '05+ front and rear end conversions. This is everything you'll need including, front and rear bumper covers, front bumper lower grille, foglight covers, OEM headlamps, headlamp and tail lamp brackets/supports, and the head lamp sockets needed to convert the high beams from H11 to 9005 and the turn signals as well. I also sourced sets of plug and play harnesses for that as well as the tail lamp setup. Speaking of the tail lamps, I'm in the process of sourcing OEM JDM Integra lamps for this build. I'm seeing them available for anywhere between $450 used to around $700 new. I've already ordered the gaskets but need to move on the lamps to complete the parts list required for the conversion. More to come on that...

Also, I ordered every single seal/molding/gasket I could still get my hands on through American Honda for the exterior. Check the pics and get hyped...

They're really high quality and are gonna save me the headache of trying to splice wiring for the new style lamps to function properly. The PLM header is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, more to come soon. Thanks for your interest,

Bro, this is how it's done. Doing it right the first time. I'm planning on similar parts for my build. Still not sure when that's going to happen. The current k20a2 seems happy with 240k on the clock.

I'm pretty sure the injen is 3"? Did you mean 3.5"? That would be a tight fit with the stock battery location and tight bends anyway. I was gonna try and build a 3.5 and turn the battery 90 deg to make room. We'll see how ambitious i want to be when the time comes.

All of these black accent pieces will look great in that bay. I don't know if "understated" is the right word, but it certainly appeals to my taste as well. I opted for the black hr fuel rail.

This build is getting me hyped for sure. Excited for you bro

Thank you sir, I'm cised for the header to finally get here today. I think the Injen is actually a 3" tube if I remember right...the blacked out theme of this build seems to be flowing nicely so far. We'll see how it continues as it goes on but for now, thanks again for your enthusiasm and interest. I'll post again when I've got more to share.
