Frankenstein Build

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and from Melbourne, Australia.. Long time Honda fan, with my first car being a 1983 Civic 1.3L N/A EN1 engine. I sold it a long time ago but a few years back bought a 1982 version that I plan on building a track car out of, including a Frankenstein K24/K20. I recently bought a 2007 CR-V as a family daily and without much research in the hope that I could use the K24 inside to start the frankenstein build. Unfortunately, based on the threads I've read, it's a K24Z1, which is not the greatest, but if anyone has any insight as to what I can do with this block, I would appreciate your help.

Also, I'm obviously interested in any K20A2 heads if anyone knows any going for sale. Unfortunately I can't access the classifieds page yet.

Yes, that's a safety feature we introduced for the Classfield's as we had more spammers there as interested buyers. For more information please contact @Them Witches, he is responsible for that sub forum.

Yes, you are right: unbalanced but forged crank, no oil squirters, weaker connecting rods (same as K24A4/A8 and K24A1/Z4), but some windage improvements on the block. The balancer shafts of that engine limit the engine speed most. A simple oil pump change would unleash for more in both, power and engine speed. We talk about around 5 hp and another 400 rpm. Anyway the crank assembly is a bit sub optimal for an high revving engine. If you limit it to 7400 rpm for occasional street drag, which would a challenge for the crank assembly, it would be ok. We have some threads regarding the tuning, bolts on and experiences of the K24A4/A8/A1/Z4 here, just do a search.
