... Finaly decided to get back on my feet and start the build i had thought about for a long time.

I did consider a K24 block and i do know that would be a better/cheaper choice, but i fancied a diferent route.

Why a modified crank? Either use a 92 or 99

Honestly.., I wanted bigger then 92mm, so without going for a "proper" custom crank (lots a money) I was left with OEM 99mm.

Realy, I compromised on the 96mm over the 99mm for the sake of a litle better r/s ratio, a litle beter rod angle there for a litle more safe revs...

Am I going the wrong way?

I just see modified cranks as one more potental areA for failure
I see where you are coming from. I feel that the modifications to a 99mm crank in order to de-stroke it do not put the reliability of the crank at risk.
Its a OEM crank and its also balanced when the work is being done.

We dont hear many OEM cranks giving in (in acceptable driving conditions).

This is not a drag car, and despite the fact i would like to see 8800 rpms, and i realise this could be a tad high, I wont be hitting the rev limiter for long periods of time.

Nice setup. Looking forward to seeing pics.

Thanks mate. :silly:

Those pistons I showed ya were intended for 9k+ with a 99 crank for a drag car.

I think you can do whT you want with the 99 crank. And they ain't thay bad. Last time I shipped one to Russia it was like 75 usd which want that unreasonable.

Those pistons are the choice... thats why CR went down from 12.5 to 12.2.

lol..., do you have any more at 75usd? :silly:

Sorry mate... tought that was cheap!!

Euro sucks at the moment bro.... and dont know if its going to last much longer!

The crank, de-stroked to 96mm and balanced should be around the 600 usd mark...
