i have a 07 civic si with 3 broken gears. my friend is selling me a 02-04 type s gear. i wa wondering if they are the same or if it will work.

Honda part # 41233-RPT-000
acura 41233-PPT-000

of coruse they have diffrent model numbers, but its close enough

im confused because 02-04 type s has 4.3 FD and 07 si has 4.7 fd

They should be.

But if you are unsure then just count the teeth on each gear to see if they are the same.

thanks im gonna meet with the guy on sat, so i can compare the gears. ill let you guys know if the ring gears are the same

why don't you just take it to the dealer for warranty work?
i work at honda and i pulled this tranny out cause it was under warrent. i knew exactly what was wrong with it, but honda still insisted installing a brand new one. i cracked it open and to my surprise (being sarcastic) the ring gear was missing 3 tooths. with my discount i can get the ring gear for under 100 or i can get a whole complete diff from a 02 type s for b-series parts im never gonna use. BTW im the only one from the Honda dealership that rebuilds transmission here.

this may be obvious, but just in case. the 02-04 4.3 ring gear will not work with the 4.765 pinion gear. they have to match. year and model dont matter but the matching ratios do.
