Hi, I am getting to the business end of a Kswap on my Lotus Elise. The conversion kit I am using is suitable for the EP3 gearbox, but the FN2 6 speed that I have, has a different lever configuration on the top of the box. I was wondering if the change lever assemblies were interchangeable between the EP3 and FN2 gearboxes?

Welcome to K20a.org @MalG.

Possible and challenging. More information you find here: How to use an 06 Si trans with your 02-04 engine | Honda / Acura K20a K24a Engine Forum, the FN2 tranny (SPWM) has a similar layout as the K20Z3 tranny (PNN4), which is in the 06+ Acura RSX SI chassis.

Let me know what came out if you have done. I will do the same this or next year.

Thanks for your reply Lotuselise. I have made a prototype modification to the fore/aft gear lever, to enable my new linkage to operate correctly. The breather needs some work to clear the way for the lever to arc clockwise, forward of the pivot.
The box does have a VSS sensor and I have a tucked loom with the required wiring and plugs, teamed with a Hondata KPro, so hopefully the jigsaw will come together!

Totally feasible, it's just plug and play.
I got myself the EP3 selector on FN2 gearbox.
The only issue is with the cable bracket as you don't have matching treaded holes to fasten the bracket and you have to do some custom fab

Thanks for your advice Ale. I am still trying to get my head around the VSS sensor thing. My sensor is the later-model magnetic style. I have a K20Z4 but an earlier harness to suit EP3 and cable throttle control. I will be running Hondata KProV4 on an EP3 ECU. Providing I match the pinouts with a suitable plug for the VSS, can I expect it all to work? I am retaining my vehicle's original ECU and Wheel speed sensor/ temp sensor, to control some functions like speed and temp dashboard display. I assume that the VSS needs to interface with the ECU not just to display speed on the dash?
Cheers
Mal

Here are a couple of photos of my gear lever mods.
I had a similar for my Y2M3 transmission, actually I run a Toyota shift mechanism, coming from backwards with the shifter cables. For the SPWM transmission the leverarm again would be look different, like yours does.
