Hi Guys new to this forum and need some help please. Have just fitted k20a engine from UK civic type R into my little old MGF and at around 5+k rpm the revlimiter cuts in. My initial thoughts were that it was a safty cut out when the oil is cold but after running it up to correct temperatures it still appears. Any suggestions??? Help!!

Well I think that your ecu doesn't know that the car is moving. Because when the car is stopped the k20 ecu will revlimit the car at 5k I think. Ask dohcturtle he's the one who told me about it. I think he said he was trying to launch on big slicks and couldn't get the rpms high enough cuz of that limiter.

I take it your the guy I supplied the loom convertor etc. to?

As already said, without the output shaft moving (ie. the car moving) you will not get over 5,500Rpm...

hi guys, the car is driving so is moving and drives through the "misfire"
and revs to 8k+ . Think it is fuelling so will know after a few mods on the fuel pressure. Will let you know.
