Yes, it looks more and more like a tank. Great job done Sir! Are you going to use a FIA sponge to handle the G-forces on the fuel calm?Tank is starting to look gooood.
You know the story about Odyssey, the Greek saga about the Hero Odyssey? He was an emperor, liberator and was very brave, but he also took a 10 year long odyssey (= journey without finding the destination you want to be) at sea before came back home. I hope this clutch does do more the first then the lastGot my clutch and other parts.
Honda's synchro systems are a weak link of the K-series trannies. The JDM gearboxes had upgraded synchro systems for faster shifting, at least the FD2 gearbox if I remember correctly. Anyway I assume you will put on much higher loads on it anyway, a full upgrade of synchronisation and gear wheels would help to have less issues. Even if you stay NA, the higher traction puts more load on the tranny parts.Opened my EP3 transmission, and found this.
Great. Are those from the FD2 or aftermarket?I have all ready synchrotec carbon syncros
Looks like the synchronization wasn't finished and the shift force was strong and rigid enough brush those teeth a bit more then usualbut the gear is so fked up that 3 gear
Ok thanks for sharing.I ordered those carbon syncros from synchrotech. So aftermarket.
😄Yeah, of I remember right it was a track/1/4mile day when this problem came.
I like this work you are doing. We should dub you the " 1st Class DIY "
Worn synchronization mechanism or worn teeth of the gear wheel?nly the 2 gear is worn. And 3 gear was the one with the problem
2 gear connecting teeth are busted. The gear is like new. The synchros are carbon syncros, drived about 15tkm.Worn synchronization mechanism or worn teeth of the gear wheel?
Seems to be suffered hard shifting events, didn't it?2 gear connecting teeth are busted
