Anyone watch the state of the union? Some parts were really interesting like paid family leave, lowering prescription drug costs, and criminal justice reform. Much of it was more of the same like immigration, and bashing investigations.

I am sorry I didn't found time. I didn't expect much from his side: promises, no talk about his fails, bashing of others for his fails. Should I really take my time to watch it and disprove myself? I spent more time in the ongoing Brexit, which is coming into the last straight before finish line :scared:

I'm quite sure there will be a scrapping of the 1st Brexit referendum results and a new vote will take place, this time with the result that the UK with remain part of the EU. There's no way that in 30 days they will find a resolution to the status quo

29th of March 2019 is coming, May hesitates now: back stop options are discussed. I assume they will extend the date by postponing it. She won't make it, she didn't base her approach on a wider party overlaying basis in London = less supporters at home and even more less supporters at Brussel. Consequently she can't stand the pressure against time, but maybe compensate her failures when time is adjusted. The EU wants no Brexit, at least a soft version of it where everything is contracted in a more win-loose way with GB. It's like a divorce. The win is only there if emotional there is no solution to life together, else there is only loss on both sides...at least at the very beginning.

Will be interesting to see what happens. Postponing will just mean that there is no resolution ever, as once there is one postponement the door is always open. Perhaps this is the only plan they have. They definitely won't solve the disagreements in a month when they couldn't do it in 3 years.

The brexit talks have been crazy to me. Seems like everyone is bashing May for not getting it done, but no one is offering any better ideas.
David Cameron cut and run after the vote cause he knew it would be a shit show. She was always going to be up against it. Doomed to fail actually, much like The Wall was since the start.

What's up with that guy, I mean Trump? Months of negotiation between North Corean and the US specialists at work level imploded in a few minutes talk? What was the problem? Next thing govermental shut down seems to be shut down - as expected - by the Senat, if not by Judicative. Is Trump aware of his bull shitting just a year before election?

Very interesting point of view: https://youtu.be/TfQij4aQq1k. Interesting because of it's story line, which is very good made and because of the content. I am interested if this is real?

Trump blames the failed N. Korea talks on the Michael Cohen testimony before
the house which took place at the same time.

Trump never accepts responsibility and guess what... His supporters are still with him. They support Trump no matter what.

Maybe he doesn't but the voters should do it!

kommon_sense, what do you think about the RepresentUs initiative? Does it really work below the federal approach level, I mean get this state initiatives rolling over the US? What do you think about the statement the US goverment does only have 4 % of confidence of the voters. What do you think about the statement the influence of the voters is way below what it should be? What do think about that graph it doesn't matter how much support of voters is there if a law make through the congress, just allways 30 % probability?

The statistics are very interesting and of course alarming, but are there tuned or facts?

I'm not familiar with the representus movement, but just watched their video. I like the idea. However they talk about fixing the states and then fixing the federal government. Unfortunately, the corrupt officials come from the states. In my home state, there was just an indictment for a campaign official tampering with votes. Let to their candidate getting elected by about 900 votes.

Our political process has lost the confidence of many people. That is how Trump got elected. People were sick of the status quo and were desperate for something different. However a big part of that is the fact that many voters are poorly informed. I see politicians on both sides saying ridiculous things and doing political theatre instead of getting work done.

The good thing is that people are getting pissed off enough to get involved. Look at how many women got elected to congress in the last election.

It's systemic of politics these days. Sometimes I wish that it would be a requirement to complete some sort of competency test before allowing people to vote. Gullible people buy into the bullsh!t that politicians spew and this is how they come to power. It's election year in my country and I shudder to think what the results will be be.

Really guys...?

Russian Affair:
Really? Trump has no personal fault? Around 30 guys, involved in the Russian affair were arrested or are going to be arrested, but the top head is not involved? How much pressure or money did Mueller get to write this bull sh...it in his report? I have my doubts on that result...while Trump now run a media wide campaign against his accusers another topic get lost.

Wall:
Trump now released some billion US dollars and the order to build 91 km of the wall. How long does it take to get a vote from Supreme Court to stop the national emergency to end this drama?

your totally sucked into the usa media garbage narrative, there was a attempted coo against a incoming president by the previous administration and certain members of the house and senate. the president has huge sweeping powers to move already appointed money because of declaring a national emergency, the house failed to carry a vote over his veto thus it is now in effect legally and the funds as well.

our country has huge political problems with our house and senate, a couple of states think they can manipulate their voting powers through numbers of people including illegal aliens to gain more seats in the house and senate. the census is meant to keep representative numbers in check and putting the citizen question on it is totally within it's scope. next you will see california, new york, illinois, connecticut and a couple other states loose seats.

it is highly likely trump will gain a second term in 2020 and it looks like the legal tide is starting to roll back over upon the former obama cronies along with the full removal of obama care.

Thanks for clarification of that. This is very dissapointing. Does it mean now he fully can control the around 8 Billion USD in the emergency pott?

This means alliances for money?

...the most important thing can be situated with the help of people found here and there.
Yes, I think so too, but support on street is as well important. Here in Europe, Sweden some teenagers started a Friday weekly protest - at school time of course :D - to protest against the paralyzed Climate Change policy of European Government, the weekend before the last some millions of teenagers European-wide protested as well on Friday. This was getting from a small local movement over FB and IG to an European-wide happening. Over 23.000 Scientists signed a paper of support of this, some of the political heavy weight's also support it vocally in the media (not to say they take that train too :D). Maybe the Anti-Trump movement needs also a Free Day Protest Approach .

Government emergency status:
How is it today, still running? Does it finance his wall?

Brexit vs Trump:
Maybe this demount of GB parliament - at least of Theresa May - is ongoing and Trumps lays back and enjoys the show. Weeks ago, the EU Parliament extended the negotiation deadline by few months. This run each party into the must to take responsibility and hey now they talk about nearly every solution they didn't find the last 3 years after the yes vote at the Brexit referendum. The referendum of the referendum? While Mueller report is sucked by the residual water channel of Trumps "Everything is okay with it propaganda", and he can build his wall and other things. I miss a bit the voice of the democratic party, seems the offence isn't their talent?!

President Trump has our country in the best shape it's been in for a long time. Every day good things are happening for the country and the media runs utter nonsense all day long. No matter. The voters can see the positive changes and the results spoke for themselves in 2016 and they will again in 2020. He's fought his way through a corrupt intelligence community, political system and CIA infiltrated media only to come out on top. The fake "Russia probe" or whatever turned up nothing. A bunch of Russians indicted for buying ads on facebook. For both sides. And Bernie. And Paul Manafort - TRUMPS FORMER CAMPAIGN CHAIRMAN!!! - got him on charges from 2013? Before there ever was a Trump campaign. Cool story, bro. Look at the facts. Record low black, hispanic, and female unemployment. Best economy ever. Businesses coming back, jobs coming back, hostages and soldiers remains coming back instead of giving 150+ billion to a country who hates us. Not giving guns to the Mexican cartels... I could go on and on, but it usually doesn't matter to people who are stuck to the fake news. MAGA.

This is a bit misleading. Congress sets the budget and controls the purse strings. Trump went around them by declaring a fake emergency. Similar to how they declared steel an issue of national security to implement the tariffs without approval.

They voted to end his emergency declaration and it passed. However as expected Trump vetoed it. There were not enough republicans willing to vote against Trump to have a veto proof majority.

I was listening to a talk show on the radio while on my way home from work a couple weeks ago and a landlord who owns a 100 unit apartment complex called in. He has had his complex for over 20 years and in his business he sees trends in the economy. When the economy is doing good like it is now, people are able to pay their rent on time. When the economy is not so good people tend to not pay their rent on time or at all. He admitted he is not the biggest Trump fan but he couldn't argue against that stat.
