If you need to see a video of a 700 WHP FWD car to know what to expect, you're setting your goals way too high. On the street think wheelspin shift bog wheelspin shift bog, etc, etc.

did you not catch the "drag car" aspect of this. The car will more then likely never see the street and if it did, I'd have a low boost config at about 4-500 whp to run on the street and that would only be like the occasional callout but I mostly try to keep it on the track if you know what I mean.

You're going to have to spend A LOT of $$$$ to get 700 WHP out of the K20- they're stout little motors, but there really aren't enough parts to push it past 500 WHP reliably- if there are, it hasn't been done to my knowledge. It'll require massive boost, massive fuel upgrades, massive axle upgrades, massive bottom and top-end work, massive nitrous, and massive bank loans to even get close to a decent 700 WHP k20- a low boost setup on that kind of car probably: 1. won't idle, 2. won't be worth a damn because it'll still need a GT-38R or bigger turbo just to get close 3. Will need beefy ass tires and 4. Will get 3.2 MPG (average)
I don't mean to shoot you down, but a 700 WHP strip/street vehicle isn't feasible unless you own a Sklyine or Supra- sorry man- Mark W.

good luck but be prepared for hards times before you get the reliability you are seeking

reliability unfortunately doesn't really go hand in hand with drag racing. look at the unlimitted budget guys that run top fuel drags. They replace their motor sometimes every couple runs. lol

I am contimplating on whether I should just do a 500 whp street/strip car. We'll see when the time comes.

man you could get luckly and a sponsor might help because of your effort, reliablity drag racing does equal money. Most of those import drag racing motors are broken down after a run or two completly and rebuilt in an hour.

I don't see why this couldn't hapen, it would just take alot of money and alot of bumps along the way. Build a bullet proof bottom-end and do a little head work and a great turbo set-up and it's more than possible.
Guys are doing over 500 on stock sleeves so what's to stop this from happening?

The massive turbo necessary for that kind of power off of a 2 liter motor would make street driving an interesting, if not extremely frustrating experience. Not to mention the MASSIVE injectors and cams that would make idling a foreign concept to the car- as someone who had a 492 WHP 2.3L Saab racer/daily driver, it's not fun or easy 95% of the time- Mark W.

god damn mother fucker, you are like the 5th person to come up in here and bitch about driveability when I bluntly said "DRAG CAR" up front. This car will RARELY even come close to street driving.

Easy there sparky- you specified that you'd be turning down the boost to 500ish HP for street driving- if it's RARELY gonna see the street, then say so- damn. And that's a realistic bit of what to expect- I'm just saying that life's gonna suck when you try and get it to drive in traffic or idle or any of those crazy notions :) And actually, I was the 1st or 2nd person to tell ya by the way- :) Relax- Mark W.

Massive? Umm what are you talking about?

515whp... stock motor... http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1342995

700whp with forged rods/pistons should be no problem at all, and with good tuning will be fine for the street... tuning is key! It's not like your going to run that much power all the time anyways, you wouldn't have traction, so you will just have to run low boost. Not really sure about spools times and how it would drive with that size of a turbo, but I'm sure it could be done.
