Shifter cables aren't necessary if you don't mind keeping the car in one gear...going with third might be kind of cool I guess. The tranny is actauted by cables so, yes you of course need the cables. The fpr I would think wouldn't be absolutely necessary if you can attain the required fuel pressure by doing a crush method to stock fpr that you have mounted on the fuel rail by doing various bits of machining, but that seems overly difficult and results in pointlessness...just get the fpr and cables bro.
