I recently busted my passenger side axle (currently running the OEM axles combo) and i'm kinda stuck on finding a replacement for these reasons:

A. They do not make remanufactured ones yet (that i could find).
B. Dealer pricing is rediculous.
C. Seems like used OEM are hard to come by.
D. When you do find a used pair some people want crackhead prices for them. (I was quoted $200 for a pair. One of them was "missing a few pieces" and basically the only salvageable part was the shaft itself!?!?).

I can get remanufactured EP axles for fairly cheap, but i have no idea if they will work for the "OEM combo" since i have never seen this discussed before.

So...

What exactly are the differences between the
EP, Base RSX, and the Type-S/R axles? Length, Strength, Splines?

Someone please enlighten me.

i have what i believe to be a pass side rsx axle. i took it out of my driver side yesterday because it was too long and a "real" complete driver side i had was way shorter, so i finally finished my driver side axle with a B sreies end and full compressed its 24" so the leftover axle i have must be a passenger side since its longer and it is an rsx axle. if anyone can confirm their rsx inner and Bseries outer compressed is 24" for the driver side and what the measurement is for the passenger side.

so i have a spare axle and believe its the pass side but not positive.

well im saying i might have the side you need so if anyone can verify how long their oem rsx pass side is then its most likely the one i have becuase its def longer than the driver side which i put in and is perfect so only other conclusion is it must be the pass side.

I will measure the shaft length of the passenger side axle tomorrow and post the info here. :)

If you don't mind me asking how did you break your axle? And how long did this combo last ?
The splines got chewed up and twisted due to the outer hub slipping off the shaft.

is this from the K inner hub and to the end of the shaft without the B hub attached? cuz thats how i have the axle right now. i'll measure that..

No. That is the K series axle shaft without either the inner or outer hub attached.

Passenger side axle shaft (just the shaft itself) is 17" end to end.
I found out today that one of the shaft is 17" while the other is like 16 3/4. I took my axles to a rebuilder and they got all the parts mixed up now, I don't know which axle goes on what side. The inners are still open so I need to figure out the right sides first before I can seal the inners. Do you have first hand knowledge if the shorter one is in fact the driver's side???

Thanx.

I only measured the passenger side shaft. I'd assume from my measurement and the ones you posted that the 16.75" shaft you mentioned is the driver side.
