Is anyone aware of any differences between all of the thermal gaskets on the market like the Hondata gasket and Power Rev Racing gaskets? I'm wondering about issues with fitment, ports matching, thickness, reusability, etc.

I don't know about p2r...but I have purchased a hondata and comptech img...they are identical, the material is a little different but both top quality.
I believe the comptech gasket is a fiber gasket, not a phenolic like the p2r.

Dumb question but which one doesn't go between the head and manifold?

Say your swapping a TSX onto an Accord and don't remove the portion w/ the fuel rail, is there one that'll go between their?

LOL... the accord and TSX intake manifolds are 2 piece instead of 1 like the RBC. Just wondering if there was a thermal gasket that would go between the 2 pieces.

That make any more sense?

I have tried the P2R gaskets and was very dissapointed. They are not phenolic as stated above but a simple delrin. The machining marks are rough, thickness is not uniform and they do not seal very well. Also the ports do not match a A2 port(but do match a A3 head port rather well), and require a fair amount of trimming. Not worth the aggravation over buying a Hondata IMG.

You would only need a thermal gasket between the mani and the head, not between the components of the mani(TSX style), it would serve no purpose between the halves of the mani.

Exactly the type of input that I was looking for. Did you go with a hondata gasket and have you been happy with its quality?

I bought my IMG from ebay, some no name one. Hopes we're a tad off but saved like 20-30 bucks over teh Hondata one. Made 235whp and 161tq. No worries for me.

Just came across the piece of paper where I had measure the sizes of the ports for the p2r IM gasket vs. the Hondata gasket. IIRC, the Hondata gasket was nearly a perfect match for the OEM gasket.

Measurements for the port sizes are :

Hondata
53mm wide
52mm high

P2R
49mm wide
49mm high

I have to say I'm amazed that a company can't make a part to even match a $12 oem item.

I'm not sure what company it was that I bought my first IM gasket from...although I know that I bought it from ebay. That was the worst of all IM gasket ever. It's the white one and exactly like Kommon said...the gasket did not match the ports nor did it match up to the stock IM gasket. I took that piece of shit out and bought a real Hondata gasket when I installed my RBC. Definitely not worth saving the couple of bucks by not getting the real deal. The Hondata gasket was right on the money. Even the holes for the studs were off for the ebay gasket. When you install the gasket onto the head...look at it very closely and you will see the big difference when installing the white ebay gasket compared to Hondata. The ebay IM gasket slouche down and ports not matching up to specs. i had to hold up the gasket with one hand and shaved around the ports and tightened down the manifold using the ebay gasket with the other. Not worth it...just buy the Hondata IM gasket.

i had the p2r one that goes between two pieces of the accord/tsx manifold.
It worked fine and was super easy to install.
The hondata style one you gotta drain coolant if the motor is already in the car.

i notice the hondata one might expand and "creep" out of place.
