Yeah in my time I've only seen maybe like 3 Deals like this. All in worse condition. No motor, no seats...Miscellaneous stuff...Even a little cheaper but restoring would cost so much more

Re: Dessert Silver 2.4 Type S, BLOWN K20A2!!

Now we start The Operation-
Disconnected the wiring harness from the ecu which was easy because the cover was cut directly where the ecu is located? WTF, why?:down: I'll buy another cover later. Also a screw was missing from the ecu? No KPRO so why was ecu tampered with? Raising questions about this shell

Then Pull the harness out from the engine bay-

I decided to remove the harness from the engine while it's still in...Less hassle with wires later.I also found that for some reason the charge harness is connected to the engine harness?Another WTF:confused: ALarm install Maybe?

Re: Dessert Silver 2.4 Type S, BLOWN K20A2!!

FRONT BUMPER OFF, HEADLIGHTS OFF. THEN UNDER CAR TO DRAIN RADIATOR AND WHAT DO I SEE?

 No tranny dust cover? WTF again. Just poorly kept type S, but Im gonna make it happy:up:

Didn't spill a drop of rad fluid:p-

RAD GONE Disconnected other lines afterward-

Took a break and put this together-

After a horrible experience with a couple rustlocked screws from my 95 CD5 suspension, I vowed never to assemble
anything without this stuff. So that in the future, I could actually use my wrench and not my reciprocating SAW:eek:-

Re: Dessert Silver 2.4 Type S, BLOWN K20A2!!

OK you guys are gonna be pretty mad at me but, I just stumbled across this TYPE S motor complete with wiring harness, and 05 trans with ecu local. For 2k Don't need the trans so I told him 1k for motor. He said money talks sooooo.
I may just do the Type S such as simple swap for me and I could build the TSX on the side??? WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? I NEED OPINIONS, CAUSE THIS WILL HAPPEN MONDAY OTHERWISE:eek::confused: EZ THANKS GUYS

It's a good deal IMO

Re: Dessert Silver 2.4 Type S, BLOWN K20A2!!

A fairly stock K24A2 compared to a K20A2 is still pretty much night and day. But at least the car will be running sooner. However, you already have a DD.

As an owner of a K24A2 RSX (stock K24 bottom end, stock K20A2 head with Toruku cams), I say do the swap. The A2 head is probably still good. The valve springs in there are good for high RPM (under 9000 which you shouldn't even do on a fairly stock K24) and I'm sure at least one of the TSX cams are better. 06 would have been best though.

Also, no hood latch? I see hood pins... Doesn't seem to secure there.

Some extra things to look out for...
Check for pilot bushing on K24 crankshaft in case it came from an automatic.
Leave AC lines connected to AC compressor and leave compessor in engine bay when taking out the engine
AC line will be in the way if you're taking the engine out from the top. But if you want to take it out from below, you'll need to drop the subframe and possibly screw up your alignment.
Removing that T shaped bar on the radiator support makes life so much easier. :)

P.S. Glad to hear you found a new place!
