So I finally got to drive my car this past weekend. I picked her up on Friday and got to drive open header style all Friday night.

Saturday morning, I take her to get a 2.5" wide 4" length pipe welded so that header down pipe could meet up to the exhaust B-pipe.

Got that done, welder turned the car on for me to hear and to check for leaks. No leaks. Pay the shop and get back to my car in the bay. Tech tries to turn the car on and gets nothing. No starter. Fuel pressure is there, starter solenoid powers up, battery is charged....but no starter action!!!

We push start the car and so I could drive home. Come to find out that the starters on the pre-'05 RSX's, Civics, Accords, and TL's are known to have starter failure. Normally they'll replace the starter under warranty, however, I don't think any dealer would want to warranty the starter in my swap....unless you all know something I don't know. Apparently, Honda changed manufacturing vendors for their starters after the B-series motors. I now need to find either a new starter, or find a re-fabbed one. Anyone with any leads on parts-yard starters? Hell, does anyone have any on hand from their parts cars?

I got to enjoy damn near 200 miles of driving before this. I tell you, K-swap is one of the best mods I've ever done to any of the cars I've modded. The car runs so stock when I was just cruising, and when I step on the gas, the car pulls like no other modded car I've had.

Too bad. Although I do have to say that whenever a starter failed in the past, it alaways showed some signs.... It didn;t just die.

I have not heard anything on the RSX starters being bad. Even searching on clubrsx, I still did not see a single posts of a starter failing.

On www.car-parts.com they go for around $100 used but I am not sure if you would want to go with a used starter.

Are you sure the starter relay is good?

I have never heard of starters failing in Ks.
