The motor is a k20a2 in a EK, belongs to Norris (nuimage)

Stock k20a2 short block. Basic add-on's plus ITBs, port & polished head, Crower spring/titanium retainer kit and header with K pro.

Basically, the cams were the only thing that was swapped.

Notice the low tq and high whp on the crower stage 3s?

This is where an interesting topic is raised. How much peak whp would you sacrifice for a lot more torque and what difference would it make on the 1/4 mile run.

Leaving aside the issue of the losses in the low end - it seems that the only real gains are above 8k, and there is actually a loss from 7k-8k. It seems like this motor may be a little over-cammed? We know the K head can flow enough to support that power to 9.5k as shown here, but maybe this motor just won't make enough velocity to fill the chamber with this setup?

I'd like to see a dyno of these cams in a k20a... I wonder if the higher compression would make that motor a better match with the Crower 3s...

1/4 mile times in this particular case would be fast if the gearing in the car was done correctly. You would want to shift at 9500 and not let the rpms drop below 8000.
And yes more compression to this setup has been done. Major power increase.

Does that small .5 extra compresssion actually affect the motor to that exent. I just dont see that extra piston surface being that much of a deal...On this motor I belive it needs bigger than 11.5 compression to take full advantage....
