I just got a new timing cover along with a new sensor. I got a CEL saying that there's no signal. So the car starts up and drives, it just wont let me go past 3K, just boggs.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks, Jess

Same thing happened to me. I was able to nurse it along for 2yrs and just use the car for under 13mile commuting. The vibration and heat would create a gap in the pins, or prongs to some, in the crank sensor PLUG. Same thing would happen to me, stutter, buck, miss, bog, and eventually throw a code and stop the motor. Stefan just soldered a new plug to the wires, shrink tubed it, and viola, good runnin' motor. You may be able to recreate the problem by doing this: Start car in neutral, have some one rev it at a constant 3K (it may help to have the engine up to temp if heat is part of this equation). Locate Crank Angle Sensor pigtail/harness/plug and tug gently>>>Firmly on it and see if there is a drop in the RPMs(stutter/buck/miss/bog). If this happens then check/replace the plug. Hope this helps. Kevin

I tried messin with the connector ans still the same. I know that the little plate on the crankshaft sends the signal to the sensor, so I'm thinking we might have put it on the the "outside" letters facing in by accident. So I'll dbl check that again, maybe that might be causing it?
