I have a 02 civic si and I am enquiring about a type r crank and cams with a type s ecu... can anyone tell if the crank will work in my block and what all needs to be changed if i do this...also I need to know if the cams will work in my head.. I'm kinda new at the internals game so I can use any imput u have...

The cams will not fit your head.. You run a different setup as far as heads go. think of it as your head is more similar to an ls head than a Bseries vtec which the type s is similar to. you can drop the head on but can not swap parts.. The type s cams have three lobes per cam per cylinder...so 12 lobes per cam. The 02 si head an ls head I believe are missing the middle lobe..The crank should work but Ive never tried it. The only way is to purchase a type s head. Or wait for the base rsx/si cams to come out good luck...
