So now that I have my engine, I am learning slowly, and understanding much more about the k series.

My question is why cant I remove the power steering pump on my setup? I will not be running the ac, but can I remove the PS pump also? Please help me understand!

Can I do it like that??? In my crx I have such little room, so this will save me from alot of issues.

I hear that the engine may suffer damage like this... why?? It dosent seem to me that it will hurt anyhting. I need some proof that it cant run a normal life on the system used above.

Its a k20r into CRX
THANKS! Ryan

Yes you can remove the PS pump... has nothing to do with function of motor.

Removing PS pump will hurt NOTHING.

I had the second car. I drove it for a yr... went everywhere.

Only prob is... after about 20K check the belt... keep eye on it... it will stretch and it slaps together very slightly. so you'll see some belt build up... There is a possiblility of it eventually breaking... just depends on how much you drive etc. if you keep eye on it and there are still ribs on belt and not to worn... np. if it starts to lose ribs simply change it.

Here's a better pic of clearance...

NIce man!!

Thanks so much. I am ordering the poly cog belt today, and the pulley from aem was just purchased on saturday, so I think im on the right track!

Thanks for all your help, and thanks for the closeup picture.

Ryan

PS, one more thing, how many washers did you use? The reason is that I have to cut my pass side headlight a little because of the alternator, and want to make sure I will not offset it too much.

i used 5 washers on top... two nuts on bottom. bout half inch. you can mock up by putting belt on alt.. then pulling alt away from motor causing tension on the belt to see what you will need.

doesnt matter how many washers etc.. just aslong as its same thickness..dont over tighten either. if you have the means itd be better to have a left hand right hand adjustment like a rear camber kit.. that was done on a race car...
