I thought my tranny was going out because it wasnt going into gears well.
Then it just got worse and worse..Now it just wont go into gear when the car is on. Grind on every attempt. As if there's no clutch pedal action going on when putting it into gears. The slave works when i push down the pedal, in-n-out it goes. If i start my car with it in gear, and the clutch pedal down, the car jumps forward, as if the pedal is up and the clutch isnt engaged.

My old setup was a comeptition stage 2 clutch, w/ matched CC flywheel. EP3 5spd.

I got rid of it after 2000 miles after the grinding happened. I also had the tranny inspected by a couple of friends, and they said it looked in good condition.

This is what i have replaced so far: Brand new components of course.
  • OEM master cylinder
  • OEM slave
  • clutch fluid (no mixture, everythings out and theyres no leaks!)
  • Pressure plate, clutch (exedy center, single springs, with act lining), and resurfaced flywheel
  • Throwout bearing
  • Checked the Shifter cables for twists
  • Inspection of tranny internals

I double checked everything. I even tested the pressure plate at 2300lbs on a press before taking it from the clutch shop.
Cant think what else it could be. Hydro or the clutch? everything was replaced, and its still doing the same thing as my last setup...confusion. Please help!

did you check the the proper step on the flywheel? check the height of the flywheel? does the throwout bearing actually touch the Pressure plate?

yep. had it tested all before i put in.

Bleed it again. You replaced the master cylinder so you probably didn't get all the air out of the lines.
yep.. read above..

If you have replaced the clutch master cylinder, have you re-adjusted your clutch pedal? If so than i have no clue, however i just replaced my CMC today and tried to take it out for a test. However it wouldn't go into gear, i spent 1 hour ensuring that i had all the air out of the line. Then i realized i forgot to re-adjust the pedal. That's going to be on another day though, i have to work tomorrow.

Try adjusting your clutch pedal, I had the same problem when I put my Competition 6 puck in. It would start up, grind in every gear, and when starting it with the clutch in it'd jump forward. I adjusted the clutch pedal and all was well :)

Did you ever get it figured out? sounds like we may be in the same boat. I did my kswap over the summer didnt go into any gear while running. clutch never disengaged. replaced clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, throwout bearing. im now thinking it may be the pilot bushing i know for sure 100 percent it is not a problem anywhere between pedal and slave. used a prybar on the salve. put a socket over the ball on the slave. my tranny went in smooth till the last 1/8 inch or so then i pulled it in with tranny bolts I regret doing this now. I did it the first and second time. now im planning on taking it apart and replacing a 5 dollar part( pilot bushing) i should have done this the first time. i hope it works. The old pp flwhl thrbrng and clutch all look good and came with the engine.
