Ok I was running a Hondata seminar in New Zealand this week with Doug from Hondata and DeanNZ. and a guy has come to me with a strengthened gear box, it is currently in use in a couple of cars in N.Z. rally scene, both have had no gearbox problems since the installation of the new gear sets etc..
He builds a new 1st and 2nd that are taller than the factory ones, but are closer together so you dont drop the rev's as much. But he moves 5th to become the new 6th and builds a new 4th and 5th, but keeps the factory 3rd.
He also removes the needle rollers and modifies a few other parts to make the gearbox faster shifting and stronger.
he has designed a new input shaft and gear shaft for the gbox, which stops the level of flex in the box.

i always wanted to do something like that with a turbo b ... use an ls 1st and second...

but theres much more potential with the 6 speed.... allthough i think id like to see the 6th gear left alone.. and for us all motor guys, set the 5th gear ratio up to run out at like 130mph at like 8700rpm or something.... and then have the stock 6th for highway mileage.... that would be a sweet setup for a built all motor k20 thats driven on the street :)

i dont know if its possible but has anyone though of doing hybrid transmissions? like using the TSX's 6th for better highway mileage(its like .659:1 vs. the K20A's .780:1).

Fearless has done something like this if I am not mistaken. I think he told me a while ago that he bought a whole TSX gear set. He was going to use them to mix and match in another tranny...
