I run a k20a2 with rbc , 70mm tb , dc exhaust manifold , 550cc fuel injectors and and a programmable ecu . I am planning on upgrading the head with , toda compression gasket , dual valve springs 80lbs and titanium retainers . I am also thinking putting TODA A2 camshafts but i dont know how much compression do they require to operate properly .

if you use Toda cams, I'd get the Toda springs to. These work with the stock bases and retainers. Even with the higher lift Toda A3, you can rev them beyond 9000 that way if the rest of the engine takes it. If you get the A2 for a good price, go for it.
You OEM cast pistons dictate the rev limit, not the valves, hence no need for titanium retainers and stiff double springs.

As you take the head off anyhow, clay the motor. Then you know for sure your piston to valve clearance.

I had toda a2 in k20a2 engine with high compression head gasket.
11.5CR
Even better if go 12.5 cr with forged internals.
Give attention toda springs work only with oem retainers.
Any other retainer will destroy your emgine...
Did the head gasket affect max vtc with those cams ? Or could you still use the full 50 degrees.
