The car:2004 Acura TSX 6spd black on black.
Owned: 5 years, and I have put 80K+ on.
Mods so far: My custom made short shifter, stainless brake lines, TL-S rear swaybar, custom intake box.

I have collected a bunch of parts over the years and they will finally start to make their way into the TSX soon. Lets just say z3 head, Tein SS, TL-S Brembos, Euro-R grill, A-Spec front lip, ported IM manifold, RDX valve cover, custom ecu etc... Its not going to be the usual balls out build that I see here, but it will be something that keeps me busy and happy.

This is how the car sits now at the paint shop.

Why did it go to the paint shop? Well I live in the north east, where the salt hates cars and ruins lives . There is rust starting to form under the doors and side skirt area. I freaked out and sent the whole car to get painted before the rust causes any damage. I love the car and I want to keep the car for a while. Maybe turn it into a weekend toy soon.

This is the short shifter I make for the Accord/TSX/TL crowd. You can find more info here http://www.tsxclub.com/forums/1st-g...-affordable-tsx-short-shifter.html#post755041

While the car was in the spray booth I went to visit Ryan at Autofair Honda yesterday (Its where I do my Christmas shopping :silly:). Nice to have Rich and Ryan 2 blocks away. Nice guys and always helpful .

My A-Spec front lip

New roof molding cause the old ones are in rough shape. The packaging on these was intense. Double boxed and insulated.

New clips for the roof molding

Made a mess of the counter LOL. Sorry Ryan!

Nice!
HaHa! I've been accumulating parts as well. Maybe I will swap some parts this winter if I have time.

I guarantee there is more salt slung on the roads here in Michigan, but my car only had 50k miles on it when I bought it and hasn't seen any more salt since. No rust and in fact looks quite clean despite the fact that the guy never parked it in a garage. Plenty of dings and scratches though.

Looking forward to seeing your project progress.
Coming along nice at the bodyshop, its gonna be fresh when you get it back. That shifter looks awesome,
And your welcome here anytime man. VIP treatment:up:
Have any pics of the grille?
Thanx Ryan! I will have to dig out and take some pix of the JDM grill and radiator cover for tomorrow.

Thanx Brock! I got my car with 42K and daily drove it. Washed the car and under the doors religiously, and it all did matter. The salt baths are not as good as they say :silly:.

Yeah, the salt is just a disaster! My exhaust is another story. The bolts are so corroded that they don't even look like fasteners... more like mini railroad spikes. I was going to swap a Euro-R header and catalyst on it a month ago but had to abort the mission because I didn't have the tools on hand to cut the bolts off. I'm going to wait until I have an aftermarket exhaust and just remove the whole stock system in one piece. :D

giving you a hard time, get a pic after the weekend, hope you have a good christmas:up:
 I wanna see it in person, I love the 04 TSX wheels, but i cant wait to see what you pick out for new wheels
I had to buy 3 oem replica wheels. I bent the crap out of the oem 3 years ago :(. I'd love to do some wheels soon, but we'll see how the budget goes.

Stopped by the shop the other day as the car was getting ready for paint (sorry for the cell phone pics). The car has no trim, handles, not even a windshield. It's getting new trim and windshield along with the paint. My wallet is hurting :silly:.

My friend Ryan doing his magic.

While the car is in the shop I thought I would work on the headlights. They were in very bad shape. Years of NH winters and highway driving did damage to the lights and really ruined the visibility of the HID.

I started with 400 grit, then 600, 1000, 1500. I will hit them up with compound and a buffing wheel in the morning.

Finally finished the headlights, and I am really happy with them. I had to hit them up with 2000 grit, followed by 2500 grit, 4 stages of rubbing compound, 4 stages of polish, then 3 stages of 3M lens polish. I used alcohol to remove left over contaminates for every step. Now they look new again.

The car is almost done. Stopped by the shop last night and saw Ryan working on the final steps and making shiny. I will post some pix of it all together when I get a chance.
