k20a. Help. I think it's a bad second gear. I don't know but everytime I shift into second gear around 3k-6k rpm it feels funny. It DOESN'T grind or anything. It goes in kinda rough, like you can feel the gear all kind when your putting it in gear. Sometime it will go in smooth. All the other gears are fine. Please help thankssss.
When I drive i just skip second gear now. To scared too.
Man I'm still having trouble with hasport stage 2 axle. Still won't go in all the way on driverside. Still losing a little bit of tranny oil through driverside axle hole everytime I drive.

try shifting into 2nd at 8000+rpm if it doesnt want to go then you'll need to fix it.. I know when I killed my 2nd it didnt like to shift above 7000rpm and hated to be flat shifted.. I also beleive that I maybe on my way through my new 2nd gear aswell.. If thats the case I'm not to sure what I'll do next...
As for the axle I'd send it back and get another one, it might be to long or have something not quite right with it... they should look at it and either return it or replace it depending if there is a fault with it...

if anything i would say that the tranny is the weak point on the k20a.. i mean when it works its silky smooth and everything.. but i've already had to replace my bell housing because the release bearing went out and took the shaft with it

dude.....what do you expect when your losing 1/2 a quart of tranny fluid a day, because the axle wont go in, and you still drive it. your tranny is going to shit as we speak, if you could get it to hold fluid, like its supposed to, you prob wouldnt be having any problems. i mean, 1/2 quart a day, is 1 quart every 2 days. kinda scary if you ask me. but do what you want.

holy shit i totally overlooked that.. yeah the tranny hold less than 2 quarts so you really dont want it to be dropping out all the time.. that really is wierd about it not going in all the way.. just like will said get some pics up asap!

I have aready sent the axle back once before and this axle went in a little more but not much. This time it BARELY seals up. It looks like the diameter of the axle spindle is A LITTLE too big. I'll take some pix in the morning for you guys to see.
I might just do the gsr axle and dc5 axle combo thing. Anybody know how to do this? For a dc2. I hate filling the tranny up everyday.

you know what that is the exact same problem i have with the HASPORT stage 2 axels also, it never sat correctly. i sent the axels back and they just sent them back to me saying nothing was wrong. I have had to fill my tranny everyday or everytime i get into the car to drive.

I'll try to get the pix up asap. Hey kmar111, so your axle won't go in all the way too?

The axle seal is fine. But it has nothing to do with the axle seal because the axle isn't even in far enough to seal the axle. And the tranny looks fine too, smooth. BUT, remember the STOCK dc5 axle goes in very smoothly. No problem what so ever.

Well I was just gonna bring the gsr and dc5 axle to a axle shop and have them put it together for me. I just need to know which inner shaft to use.

Which side is it? the drivers side? I will measure my axle lengths and let you know a measurement that way you can make one the same length as the one I have that works o my car.. although I dont run a HASPORT kit.. but even in all the comparision pics I doubt there will be any really difference in length.. you could always lay the stock GSR and DC5R shafts beside the DSS axle and see which one looks the right length then just get which ever CV swaped across.. I know I run gsr outer CV's DC5R inner CV's and one axle of each...
But anyway I will measure the shafts in the morning.. mental note to self passanger side on my car..... drivers side on yours...
