ASP All Motor Street Car

I have been on the forum for quite a bit now. Just wanted to introduce my self in the race scene as my last setup blew and I kinda borrowed a block from Stefan and than parted out my last car. My name is Stas and I help out at the ASP shop. But I got back on my feet and build another car this time street class. We built the motor and all head porting in house, threw it in the car the next day and tuned couple days later.

We made 280whp/177wtq on a lower reading Dyno Dynamics dyno. 4 days later we went to IFO Woodburn and i was able to take 1st place in AMS. Car was running consistent 11.7s with 1.77 60ft.

setup is:
88x99 15:1cr
blueprint rods
Asp ported head
vtec killer custom ASP cams on the smaller side
ppg 1st and 2nd (2.6 1.6)
63mm ported center feed excessive with q45tb
Asp header
3in exhaust with 2 mufflers

i would assume the car to be in the 11.0-11.3 range with that power and weight no?

any slips? or any places you find you can improve on?

great looking vehicle btw, and a pretty healthy setup

car would need to weight around 2000 to 2050 pounds with driver with that horse power to do 11.3 in the quarter mile.

it has more in it it was my first time out with new setup. but do keep in mind full interior all seats full exhaust 2 mufflers etc but im sure a low 11 is deff possible gutted and open header wit some seat time. im trying to see whats best i can do as is and for street class i need it as is. ill do some test and tunes later with everytin out. i need to improve 6o ft and i need to rev higher in 1st to drop in power band because 2nd gear is too long need a 1.9.
ifo in 2days well see how it goes. .

yea i cant even get it to 2150 with me because all of restrictions for ams class. but some lexan one seat no interior fiberglass or cf doors open header im sure can do a low 11

I bet it has a 11.3-4 in it for sure my car is a stock internal longblock k24a2 and is a AMS car also and ran [email protected] so you definitely have more mph then me I also had almost a 1.5 60ft so get that thing dailed in I think you will be surprised!

how old are your slicks? 60 foot is killing you.

i did 11.30 @ 119 with 300hp and 2370lbs. 1.62 60 foot though. on 5 year old 23's

yea the 60ft is killing me i tried all different launchin launch low more tire prrssure. launch high with less air. so idk seemed like the best is at 8k and 11.5 psi i dont bog or spin but 60 wont get any better than. 1.76.

update .....well i was able to run a 11.51 still with a 1.76 60ft trap almost 120. and reved to 9800 but had trouble gettin in to 2nd gear at really high rpm. syncro probably worn out. and the car pulls really hard 3rd and 4th but 1sT and 2nd gear is killing my half track need more power or diff gear ratios. so i was runner up at ifo vs a 11.3 track forged k24 eg 350 whp . will post slip and vids tomarros.

You need to be at like 6.5- 7 psi with a low psi drag racing tire gauge if you don't have one. 7500 ish launch.

Do you have traction bars? Car aligned for drag?

i have traction bar and had alignment done a week ago. with 2 degrees caster on each side. i tried launching with low air pressure and car just falls on its face. even launching a 8k my with 11psi rpm drop to 4700rpm and as u can see on the dyno graph my powerband is from about 6200. so im loosing some power. but ill try it next time. it might be the case that i dont have enough power putting to the ground with long gear ratios as compared to when you had the stock tranny in your car. what gear ratios u have for the 1 and 2 ?

my slicks are 3 years old and about 20 passes on them i was able to get a 1.60 6o foot in the previous eg with 320whp and itbs at 7psi and it launched great same setup pretty much. but that was 2 years ago.
