Hey anyone runing skunk2 stage 3 cams? I am thinking of putting them in them my k20z1 eg. I will also be using supertech valve train and stock bottom end. So if your using them please tell me how you like or dislike about them. Also your setup and power your putting down thanks. Just trying to see what hp numbers I will see in my car

Yeah I don't doubt ips has good cams. Its just that I got the skunk 2's for free with my motor that's why I wanted to see what power they put down

Yeah... may not be the right question for this crowd, Skunk2 isnt liked very much in these parts. Just do a search.

skunk2 has had issues with the centerlines of their cams on k-series...just means you have to buy an aftermarket exhaust cam gear and have the cams degrees or you will have chain/tensioner issues. heard recently the most recent V3 cams are fine, but I still would go with another company that has done more research on k's. skunk2 parts and most are parts out today are replicas of top name brand companies, or are replicas of replicas. it all depends on how much you want to spend and how much quality you want in a part.

Iam buying the skunk2 stage 3 cams I kno a few people who have them n are making good power with these cams close to or if not over some of the big name companys... For the price there worth it there is a new v3 of the cams which you do not need there cam gears... I personally have the blueprint 3s and now gonna try the skunk 2 stage 3s which I've seen nice dyno sheets from one of the best tuners around skunk 2

Skunk2 says you are not gonna see any benefits using stage 3's on stock the bottom end! There isnt enough compression and you wont be able to run full vtc!!! Better of with stage 2's on stock bottom end!!!

Thanks everyone for the responses. And yes ithe motor came witha skunk2 cam gear also. So iwill call skunk2 and see if they will switch them out for stage 2's how do I know if they a v3 or not?

Not True. we never damaged a motor and we did run more the 35 with vtc.
The Stage 3 cams were made for race motors so clearances should ALWAYS be taken into account when building a motor.

ANY big cam can create valve to Piston issues if the piston is not designed properly for a specific cam profile.

I was trying to show a map on one of my engines I just can't copy and paste the map on here. We have run 39* vtc with no issues.

they will broke the plastic cover over the cam gears and then the chain.
And..... if you run 35 vtc and you miss a gear the 35 degrees will be 45.:dance:

I kno qite a few people running these cams with no problem U must buy a new tentioner n chain before u install n be sure u check piston to valve clearences...

I have had skunk2 stage 3 for 3 years with same tensioner with no issues its a daily driver.
