Does anyone have any real knowledge of the JDM K24a? It seems there are many different models from what I've seen (I searched and couldn't find anything definitive regarding the JDM TSX equivalent).

The one I bought has an RBB-2 head, with the 3 lobe cams (I checked it).

But the intake manifold is stamped RAA? (I can't tell if its the tsx rbb size or smaller\) nothing to compare to.)

And the block is stamped RAA on it.

What motor is this from and how much power does it make? I can't tell if the JDM RAA manifold is smaller than the US RBB because I don't have an RBB to compare to. Can someone take a measurement of the RBB intake chamber part and let me know how tall it is? If it's a small Accord-type manifold then I'll switch it out and buy a tsx one (going in a sandrail so I'm looking more for torque than top-end power).

There are 2 models of the 3-lobe jdm k24.
One from the Odyssey Absolute.
The other one is from the euro Accord cl9.
They both have the same cams and hp.
Odyssey k24 has a power steering pump, while the euro Accord does not.
The raa part of the intake manifold is the injector base.
If you remove the plenum part you will see it is stamped rbb.

Thanks! That clears it up. Mine has a ps pump so I guess its from the Odysseus absolute. This is the exact info I was looking for! I was searching all over and couldn't find anything on these motors.

I would double check the intake manifold plenum's stamped part number for confirmation. If it reads RAA its the same/equivalent to our USDM accord and 04-05 TSX 1st gen K24A2 manifolds.

K24's with aluminum manifolds all have the same RAA injector base.

If the plenum has RBB stamped on it then its equivalent to the updated/2nd gen K24A2 (06-08).
RBB manifold has a fatter plenum vs. RAA and larger diameter TB hole:

cam wise I believe the JDM K24A's have the 04-05 K24A2 cams w/slightly weaker intake cam profile vs. 06-08 K24A2 intake cam.

Think you can remove your valve cover and share several pics of the cams ( wide top view shots) ?

I just took a look again and the plenum does say rbb hf-4 on it. Thanks everyone for the input and identification help. Its definitely a 3 lobe. I checked it. And its an rbb-2 head

I was wondering the same thing since i had my k24a swapped in. I was guaranteed by the seller it was the accord type-s motor.
But now reading this im not so sure since it came with ps pump.
It came with the red top mani cover but they could just put it on from anywhere i guess.
I have a pic of the RAA stamped above the flywheel. If someone could tell me if its the 04 tsx equivalent or 06-08 equivalent.
Here is the pic:

Yea K24A2's have RAA on the block as well in the same area. Same goes for our base accord K24A1/A4's engines. The internals and the head is what matters.

I can barely make it out by zooming in within photoshop with your first photo, but the head part number stamp (between the cam phase sensors) looks like it may read "RBB-1". If so, RBB is definitely a good sign of being a CL9 engine. The RBB head is the same head used on our K24A2, tho we have head part number variants of RBB-1/2/3. 2-3 being mixed in with 06-08 K24A2's (1mm bigger intake valve, better intake cam, bigger plenum & tb, etc).

IIRC the UK Accord Type-S (CL9) is equivalent to our TSX 04-05 K24A2 engine. Your Type-S model just gets some luxury love (nav etc) but nothing different engine wise. I'm still unsure if the UK CL9 ever got the 06-08 upgrades like our 06-08 CL9 received.

If you can remove the valve cover and take some snaps of the cams, it would help narrow down which cams you have, especially the intake cam.

so how much power for both?

UK never got the upgrades like the 06 TSX unfortunately .

I am going through the same thing and would like some clarification. I have an 04 tsx that I changed the engine in. It had an RAA intake/pulley set up. The engine I put in was an RBB. I changed the intake but not the pulleys, though they were the same. The idle pulley is going now and I need a RBB idle pulley. I found a site that sells "JDM HONDA ACURA TSX K24A ENGINE TRUE VTEC RBB-2 K24A2" which looks like my pulley bu can't figure out where to buy the right one.

If I'm understanding you right, you're not going to keep the power steering pump and will be going idler pulley, as in an ep3 style idler pulley?
