Im about to buy a type s ecu but the seller isnt sure what year its off of.does it matter if its from a 02-04 or 06+.Either way im gonna bypass the immobilizer but I need to know because im gonna use it stock without kpro..

Yes it does matter. If you want to use the ECU in a K-swap it needs to be an 02-04 ECU. The 05-06 cannot be used. Just stay away from any ECU with the last 3 digits A13 through A16

02-04 would be cheaper because the kpro would cost more to convert from the 02-04 to the 05-06 ecu's. ( for people running the z1 set up, and want to use the z1 trans and magnetic type speedo gear.

Na I was recording one and the cops came so we took off and got pulled over and a chp officer took it from me.. sucks it was a brand new 1080p hd camcorder I just bought..

The 05+ PRB ECU (A13-A16)can not have Kpro installed, only the reflash. When the owner of a 05+typeS wants Kpro, a older 02'-04' ECU is used with a special conversion harness that is chassis specific.

You will need new pistons as well to mount either of those heads.

so a prb with a13 at the end cant be used correct ?
