Progress has been a little slow but continues!
Well done, sounds really nice on WOT. How does it come that IAT heats up by 20 °C in a 200-300 mm distance. I would assume your sensor is affected more by the heated pipe as by heated air. What do you think?

Thank you :)

I'm not sure at the moment. I think if it was just heat soak on the sensor it would be reading higher, what I believe is happening is the hot air from the engine bay is going into the filter. Its still getting some ambient air but not enough to keep the temps down.

I've been looking at isolating the filter from the engine bay but concerned that air flow through the engine bay is going to be restricted, need to have a proper think about it and test a few things out.

Yes, could be the heater.

You maybe have a picture of the situation?

I am interested in your trumpets! Is this something you are selling or would?

I see, this is a very attractive option to improve the RSP IM beside the cut and welding or CNC option. Regarding inquiries to @mrluke please use the PM function only, to apply to the terms and conditions of K20a.org. Your mod/admin team.

En passant @H2nr, you are the 2nd longest active member here at K20a.org! That's amazing! Nikos started K20a.org around Aug. 2003. We have a member still active member here from Nov. 2003 and another on from Dez. 2004. That's dedication, almost 18 years! I am happy you are here.

Welcome to K20a.org @RickyRacerPerformance. There are several possibilities:
  • cutting and rewelding like @AiC did it
  • designing and cutting
  • designing and 3D printing like @mrluke did it
What is your project? Would be great if you share more about it in an own thread :).
There's a 4th option, drop me a private message :)

However getting them across to the states is a bit more difficult than in europe.

Welcome to K20a.org @kosta2509. Would be great if you introduce yourself and your project in an own thread. I really would appreciate to know more about it, beside it has an RSP, maybe a K20Z4 engine or a Frankenstein'd Z4 head ;)...too many guessing, make it concrete :p.

Hello, first of all congratulate to all for the work done on the RSP intake manifold.

I have an EP3 with swap to K20Z4, I bought a RRC and I have it mounted and working, I still have my RSP manifold, do you think that buying a kit of trumpets and protector I can improve the performance of the RRC?

Sorry im spanish, poor english.

Thanks!

English looks great to me :)

So far the best info I have seen places the modified RSP on par with the RRC. I haven't seen anything that says it can beat it.

From an OE side it may has the biggest potential for the 2-Liter basis. The bigger ID of the RRC may help bigger displacement engines. I am actually doing an budget related design to get even more out of it, based on the shortened but stock ID runners for a race engine of an team I support. To overcome the biggest bottleneck - plenum inflow - of it seems for me the 1st order priority. That is done a bit better on the RBC and RRC.
