same shit happened to me for the first time the other nite, i never had an issue with anything since day 1 dunno what i did to recreate the problem, but i think i just didnt push in my usb cable all the way in the ecu..

litter check that you have a piece of tape on the bottom of the cover right over where the usb cables gets plugged in.

I have a piece of paper that says "do not remove" that's from hondata. I guess I'll put a piece of rubber there too.

so is dell laptops the reason for this? because i can't get mine to stop going offline. i'd unplug the usb and plug it back in, i'd be online for a few seconds and it would fall offline again. both tries are with 2 different dells. maybe i'll try a sony and see if that works better.

rofl. I told ya those dells suck. I would throw them away. As a matter of fact I threw my last dell away and spent like 1100 instead of 500 for a laptop (dell)!!!

Actually, you're wrong. I have had 3 Dell laptops and I tune a lot of K-series systems with no problems. I still currently use my Dell Inspiron 1100, and my Dell Inspiron 600m daily.

There were quite a few problems using non-ferrite shielded USB cables, so make sure you have a cable with the ferrite core on it..

Well IBM and Dell don't compare if you ask anyone that uses computers. So your wrong on that. You can't compare the X series with the POS 1100 series. You have seen all this people having problem with dell laptops. The other day I was using an Insprion 8200 that shit was very unstable. The fact is dell has very cheap quality builds. I know, I have used both IBM and Dell...So until you try IBM X series then come tell me which one u think its better...Have u ever droped your dell  I have dropped mine several times nothing has happened. Try that with a dell see what happens.

Also my ibm is not a boat, where as the dell you can use it as a lifejacket. :p 2.5lbs vs 7.0lbs laptop. you get the idea.

ibm is also more expensive. you can actually call they have tech support here in the United States. Dell is in India they repeat words 12 times before they understand you. So I have had my share of headaches with dell. IBM tech actaully know what they are talking about top notch tech support!!!

Ever tried calling dell tech support at night?? :silly:
hello my name is Kris lol

If u have called dells tech u know what I am talking about

Well, I dont toss my laptops around too much, but I have no problems with my $500 dells. :) They get used daily, they tune everything from Hondata, to Neptune, to AEM, to Zdyne, and do it without calling me names. :) I have never needed their tech support, and until you can give me a better reason not to use them, other than "ask anyone who uses computers", I'll stick with them. :) I can get a new Dell every six months for two years for the price of your 1 IBM. :)

Honestly though, its pointless to argue about it, I've been using Dell machines for 5 years now and have never had any problems, all of my home pc's are dells, every machine at Hasport is a Dell (with the exception being one mac), and they keep on ticking.

My brother has a dell Desktop they are very good machines. I have had the sc400 server also very good. I just don't like the laptop line they are very unstable. My laptops are on 24/7 stability becomes any issue if a machine keeps going down. With Ibm laptops I have had any problems besides calling for a hard drive exchange took less then 10 min to get the problem resloved harddrive was at my house next day.

for laptops I will stick with IBM :silly: 500 dollar machines don't cut it for me. :silly: rather spend another 500 for peace of mind and less headaches wouldn't anyone. just one call to india and you will see what I mean :p
