Its all in the tuning. There is no set limit of what the stock sleeves, pistons, or rods can handle (atleast not yet).c_buz said:stock motor??? I thought stock sleeves can only handle 11 psi at most? And what about running 18psi on 11:1 CR?? Uhmmm I think they aren't telling the whole story. And even if it was stock, how long would that motor really last anyway. I think what they really meant is : "stock" motor. hehehehe
P.S. Impressive numbers though.

And i watched...But seriously I was shocked and amazed that we made that 515whp, even when we started getting up into the 480's i started to think to myself this is crazy. Oh well what can i say except that we will definitly be ready for clash of the titans next weeknd :driving:st00pid said:I tuned the car.
What! That sounds like something you would hear form The Old One ( Endyn). That much hp would push the rods right off the crank.c_buz said:stock motor??? They were installed over the weekend and tuned tonight. Look for Jason's post when he can get online. I haven't even seen the results yet, just got word on the phone.nikos said:Any idea when the IPS cams will be going in?
Hi i'm a brand new member. My girlfriend and i are trading in our Matrix for Type S in couple months. In all my research over the past few months, i've never seen any numbers remotely close to these. That much power on stock internals is insane, how is it possible? With tuning yes, but how can stock honda rods and pistons handle that??? I'm stumped. please level with me, is it really possible to get that kind of power from the stock motor?? If so, Daaaaamn i'm in for some fun in couple months! Thanks for your response, i need the advice!st00pid said:I tuned the car. The engine has never been apart except to tap the oil pan. All stock internals. The car has been running on 400-430whp on pump gas for about a month of hard abuse. the compression is solid across the engine. Its a very fun car to drive.
Awesome info. :up:st00pid said:Its not power or boost that breaks an engine. Its cylinder pressure and temperature that causes failures. If you control those factors the engine can live making quite a bit of power.
Hey man, how's your boosted D running? Still strong as hell?beerbongskickass said:Awesome info.
This is why I always say tuning is the most important part of a turbo setup.
So if its tuned right i can run 350-400hp for the street???!!! What kind of turbo setup? Greddy? How much boost? Thanks for the help bro, cant friggin wait!st00pid said:Its not power or boost that breaks an engine. Its cylinder pressure and temperature that causes failures. If you control those factors the engine can live making quite a bit of power. The car was tuned extremely conservatively. If we were to tune more aggressively the car would make a LOT more power but would break due to the higher cylinder pressures.
