ok guys i have an 05 type s and i need to replace my final drive. i was wondering if the 06-09 SI final drive will work in my 05 type s?

i checked the part numbers here they are. they are basically the same and looks like they can be interchange able but im not sure. i just want to make sure

05 type s
Counter shaft: 23221-PZF-000
Gear ring: 41233-PZF-010

06 SI
Counter shaft: 23221-PZF-000
Gear ring: 41233-PZF-010

07 SI
Counter shaft: 23221-PZF-000
Gear ring: 41233-RPT-000

08 SI
Counter Shaft: 23221-PZF-000
Gear ring: 41233-RPT-000

09 SI
Counter shaft: 23221-R87-010
Gear ring: 41233-RPT-010

u can see that the 06 si uses the same part numbers, but then the 07-08 si uses the same part number for the counter shaft but a differant number for the gear ring.

will i still be able to use that gear ring since its a differant part # in my 05 type s transmission?

Yes Shaun, they are the same. You can buy that SI 4.7 and itll work just fine. :up:
