Can I put on an 2005 type s tranny in my civic hatch. Would it be a direct bolt in. Right now I have an 03 type s complete swap and my 6th gear grinds. Wondering if there's anything different like the way the mount would fit?

i think im gonna go ahead and fix my tranny, its only 300 for syncros

If you know your way around a trannsmission you could get the 05 tranny, then transplant the whole shaft, counter shaft, and diff into the 04 case.

All you need to convert to the 05 final drive is the ring gear, countershaft and countershaft bearing. Of course a 6th gear synchro.

I have a 2000 si with a 05 rsx-s tranny and it fits just fine with the hasport mounts. The only problem I have is that the 05 tranny does not use a mechanical speed sensor like the 02-04 type s. It appears to use a magnetic speed sensor, when we pulled it out there was not a gear on the end of it, just a metal casing that was magnetized. Any way all 3 tranny holes match the hasport kit on the 05 tranny. Good luck finding one though, took me months.

hey how complicated was the type s tranny on your k24 block?? was it a direct bolt on? If not how did u modify for it to fit. I got a k24a4 block and tryin to fit a type s tranny on it. thanks

I put a k20z1 engine and tranny into my EP3. You can install the a2 style speed sensor. You need the part honda/acura calls a "clutch cover" from a2, the speed sensor gear, and the speed sensor itself. I believe it's around $500 for both brand new from acura overnighted. Then you need to have a tranny guy open your tranny, install the speed gear, then replace the clutch cover with the a2 one. Then the speed sensor just fits right in.

I speet about $1500 and 3 weeks getting everything worked out. If I had to do it again I'd have to get one hellva a deal on that z1 tranny, or know how to work on trannies myself.

Thanks logandzwon but im using a k24block with a 6 speed tranny.. i think it might be different from ur k20z.

Anyone else have a k24 from an accord or crv block... and using a type s tranny??? Does it bolt right in?
